Body mods

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 5:43 am

I've recently got back into Fallout after a long stint in Oblivion, and one thing that I am stuck on picking out for my mod reinstall are the body mods. For Oblivion, I've been using Roberts and HGEC bodies - mostly because there are a large amount of armor mesh compatibility packs/conversions for these bodies.

I'm looking for a similar thing for Fallout - are there body mods that have total mesh conversion packs or compatibility packs for these body mods? I'm running FWE with MMM, if that matters, and I'd like to keep compatibility with those two mods.

Type 3 seems to be one of the most common female mods. I can't link it Forum rules you know, and I'm unsure about male bods.

Yea Type3 is the most common it seems, and most of the clothes for body mods are made for Type3. Cross interchangeability between type3 clothing and other body mods, I do not know much about this but it seems some are interchangeable.

for males it's either Robert's or Breezes. Again can't link as cory said.

I use a variant of Type 3 called Type V, but the outfits are cross-compatible as far as I know. Type V has a full stock armor/clothing conversion too.

This is what I'm most interested in, the stock conversions.

I guess I'll go with Type V for female - how about male? I saw the Roberts F3 version, not sure if that is what I want or what though. In terms of stock conversions and such.

I use Breeze's Male Body replacer. It has texture options, a complete vanilla clothing replacer, some DLC replacers, and a few unique armors for it. It was easy to install, thanks to a nicely scripted FOMOD. I'd recommend it.

Cool, that answered my question fast :)

How about neck seams/patches/fixes? This stuff need to be done?

Hmm I haven't really noticed neck seams on my male NPC's with Breezes. Oh, and for type 3 there is also a smaller shoulders mod that IMO is a must have, but I don't know if there's one for type V or if it works with it.

I love Babe, but it doesn't have many clothing mods going for it. There's a few gold nuggets though. Almost tempted to learn blender in order to convert some stuff.

The patches and fixes for Breeze's body(including compatibility with Robert's Male body) are all right there on the Files tab. :) The neckseam is not as pronounced (imo) for Breeze's male as it is for virtually every other female body mod. However, it is still visible. Seems like a native Fallout 3 issue that can only really be overcome with some stylish neckwear. For that, I recommend Kikai's Equipment. :D

Regarding female body mods- whichever you choose, I highly recommend dimon99's experimental smaller female hands. They look fantastic, as they are truly feminine hands, not the ruddy knuckled man-mitts of the original.

I've been looking at that smaller shoulders mod myself and thinking about getting it to see how it looks. I'm using the Dimonized Type 3 replacer for females. There's also a smaller hands mod for that type which is marked as "experimental" - has anyone had any issues with this mod?

Edit - answered above by greenwarden. When will I ever get it through my head to RT(bleep)T before posting? :banghead:

Thanks for the info on the male body replacers. I'm still using the vanilla body for the men and wanted to try out a different type, but they're kind of hard to find. Seems like the girls get all the attention, even in FO3.
