body morphing

Post » Sun Apr 10, 2011 9:21 pm

Anyway, if I'm not mistaken, the option to select your body type at the start has been confirmed, as well as the option to mod. This way I think it will be very easy to change a little bunch of parameters to mod the game the way you want, or the way we wan't if the things goes as you want.

Oh yeah, this could totally be modded in as long as the scripting engine has access to the mesh morphing mechanics(pretty sure it would, I can't see Beth not taking advantage of that). Given the new AI it may even be applied to all npc's.

I will be right angry if there is body morphing... I make my character the way I want her to look at the beginning of the game, I don't want my level progression messing with how I look. My stats and attributes should affect just that, my stats and attributes.

I wouldn't mind body morphing to be somewhat realistic and change, but I also don't want to have to be permanently massive because I'm really good at swords or whatever, so I think the safest way is to just have good body customizations at the beginning, I mean I'm scared of making mistakes (on console anyways) but I'd rather be in control at least once. And I hope that whatever race I choose to be I don't have to have the same body as the guy in all the screenshots, he's way too big in my opinion, I kind of want to look skinnier. One thing I do want to be able change later on is hair style though.

I thought it was confirmed we have control on things like height and how fat, skinny, and muscular one looks in the character creation screen...

I would HATE if body types morphed based on attributes/skills.

I like playing warriors, wearing armour and melee fighting, I'd hate to look like a mini-hulk.

The point of rpgs is to make your character how YOU like, if you want to play a slender but good warrior you should be able to.

Not to mention body types aren't that "simple."Just because someone is big doesn't mean they'd be good at fighting with a sword or anything. A LOT of body builders of today, even Arnold back in Conan would have made TERRIBLE warriors inr eal life because of their bulk they lose range of motion, etc not to mention the bulk of carrying all that muscle and long distance travel.

Meanwhile look at a lot of "Strong man" competitions, a lot of those guys have a freaking GUT on them and still are strong as hell.

I want San Andreas body morphs! Hit the gym, get huge!

Kidding :P but body types were confirmed to be in character customization. As for your body changing from RPing conditions, yes I would like to see that.

a light build should make the player small and at max attributes look have a build like bruce lee ,

bruce was a'lot of lean muscle..he was a beast. he was short, that's all.
i know what you mean, but bad anology

Sounds like Fable too me.

Not that I oppose the idea, but it still sounds like an extended version of what Fable did.

fable is not the only game to do this, GTA.
and besides, scrolls needs body builds. i want me a fat orc!

No. I want my character to look how I made him/her in the character creation.
I hated that I couldn't be a female warrior in Fable 2 because she would look like a fat nightmare hulk mother...

This.

The only thing that I want to be able to be able change outside or character creation is hair, makeup, & tattoos.

Personally I think that if we have morphs than they:
1. Have to be influenced by multiple attributes - the at last 3 attributes for every morph, for example musculature has to be influenced by strength, endurance, and agility at high level. Maxin only one of thous attributes woun't make you to muscular, but all 3 at 100 will. The same for weight - speed, agility and personality, you can still be charming and quite chubby, or agile and soft around the edges, but supermodel with Olympic gymnast agility and sprint runner speed will be quite thin.
2. Morphs have to depend on the body type.
3. And the most important - the maxed out morphs for every body type have to look godlike good as in design in mind, not just "lots of everything" like it was in Fable. If all your attributes are at 100 you have to look like a magical vision of perfection, not an ugly mismatched troll. And still retain the overall body shape you selected to begin with, don't make Conan out of Altmer please :)

Not that important in a game that doesn't feature female Dwarves

My guess is that at the start of the game we'll be able to choose between 3 body types: muscular, average, and possibly slightly overweight.

I wouldn't want it to change over time.

Your poll is nor über clear. So, err, body types + evolution of the body during the game - why not, something VERY subtle, though. And tatoos and suchlike.

Speaking of body evolution : page 55 of the GI, I seem to see frostbite on the hand that cast the spell, or at least some cold damage ; http://oi55.tinypic.com/16le97p.jpg, it looks like there is healed scars on the guy's arm.

So I hallucinate ? Having body damage, and see it healing would be awesome.

I wouldn't have guessed from the guy fast-drawing it in the time-lapse video. :P

Still, if I'm correct (not sure I am, it's difficult to judge), then he wouldn't imagine the healed scars anymore than he would imagine the armour's texture.

Not that unlikely, too, considering how veins or hairs can be seen on the arms of the 55 page of the GI.

I usually play through fantasy rpg's as a female character...mostly because if I'm going to spend 100 hours + in a video game i'd rather follow around the woman of my dreams rather than some ripped muscle thug. I hope that is they have morphing to a minimum otherwise it'll be like fable 2 where my female hero looked like the wrestler Chyna by the end. I would much rather decide what my body looks like in the beginning. Maybe they could have an illusion spell that you have to be a higer level to use that will let you change your appearence.

I had an identical thread with no poll earlier, and everyone immediately thought "FABLE AAHHHH DEATHHH" Man, I wish Fable didn't exist, I'm pretty sure if Fable never existed a lot more people here would think body morphing is a cool idea, instead assuming that if BGS did the same thing it would be EXACTLY like Fable, which it wouldn't, because the BGS devs aren't unintelligent. (The board censored my other G-rated word I used for 'unintelligent')

I'd like very much being largely or completely in control. If there still were attributes, I wouldn't mind if they were physically visible too.

This and I do think races should have different body types. For exampel if there were three levels or something - skinny, medium and muscular - a muscular imperial would look like a medium Orc.

Body morphing based on skills/anything would be horrible, in my opinion. I would like full control of my character's looks, thanks.

Also, no one has any info on how much customization is currently planned, right? I hope that it is atleast as good as oblivion, and I wish and dream that it would be as good as APB's: (from 0:00 to 1:20)

it still is a bad idea, in spite of the limited poll.
