Body Size Determines Action Pips

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 3:17 am

They're basically energy bars that limit the amount of things you do (ie. Give out health, buff health, revive, give out ammo, buff weapons, and it limits what abilities you can do)

And on a side note it takes double the pips if you heal yourself or buff your own weapon.

thanks for the help

Why is it called a "pip". Is there any significance there, or is it just to remind me of fruit as though I'm playing Crash Bandicoot?

I'll probably end up with one of each, I won't be able to choose. I guess it depends mostly on the difference between skinny and medium mobility as to which I'll focus on.

Don't medics have the ability to recharge pips faster???

Heard something like this as well. In previous SD games, different classes recharged at different rates. In W:ET you could even modify these rates in the server settings.

It might've changed by now but in the PAX 2010 gameplay video you can see that different classes have different amount of pips.
But as I said, this might've changed, or then he was using some ability to make this happen.

All three body types now have the same amount of default supply pips, but there are numerous ways to affect the length and recharge rate of your supply meter.

Thanks for the confirmation Badman. ^^

But, I think we were talking about recharge rates for different classes, not the amount of pips for different bodytypes.

yeah i agree if they didnt have that happen nearly everyone will be light because the advantage they have

Considering we have learned that Lights can be OHK'd under certain circumstances, I don't see an advantage for Lights per se.

Found this on this link:http://www.ps3attitude.com/new/2010/11/brink-diaries-classes-upgrades-body-types-explained/
If you want to be skinny all the time, but you don’t want to run out of power, you can really focus on making sure your power meter is as long as any medium guy’s. So you don’t have to suffer. Because you have chosen that, you might not be able to buy the operative’s ability to hack enemy turrets (to use them as a remote control device) or fire at enemies from safety. There are so many abilities: it’s a long list.

This would have you sacrifice quite some ability-points, though, I hope.

All three body types now have the same amount of default supply pips, but there are numerous ways to affect the length and recharge rate of your supply meter.

Are (some of) these ways integrated into the bodytypes? Like Heavies regenerating Pips faster?

It seemed like a very reasonable balancing-thing.

Thanks for the correction, and now I believe that is enough to sway me to play light instead of medium.

I really like the prospective mobility of the skinny guys, I just dislike the way they look and their inherent frailty.
I think I'll probably go for the medium body type. I can't bear to go for the heavy and lose the parkour, but I don't want to be a runt either.

Im torn between the body types now, i was going to be med at first, nw i cant decide, i want to be a heavy engineer so i can be a great defender but i dont want to lose my parkour, but i dont want to be weak either, i guess im gonna have to wait for the game to decide.

Still going primarily medium for balance. But yeah, guess we'll have to wait and see how each fares.

Good to see mod/dev responses around here!

I really enjoyed the Pakour aspect of Mirror's Edge, so I will probably be either Medium or Light Build. It depends on how they play and if I can play them well enough to be an efficient Medic. :)

I'm actually pretty keen to go SMG w/ heavy build... used the equivalent on MAG, it was a CQC 1v1 beast.

No, he actually meant a Gran-ade launcher. Launches bottles of gran's homemade lemonade.
