Body Sliders

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 2:07 am

Just curious if anyone has heard anything on body sliders. I'm super interested in how in depth it is. Height adjustment was mentioned I think but what about muscles? Can we make our characters blockier or curvier? Softer or rougher?

What parts are adjustable and how far can you go?

...

*ahem* For science of course. :blush2:

Maybe yes and your body type will affect agility/speed?

It could be a bunch (well, more than two maybe) of presets. Personally, I'm hoping for something along the lines of the customization seen in The Sims 3 or its new medieval sibling. Say what you will about those types of games, it does have some great things for character creation.

I'm also really hoping your physical build does not affect your stats (attributes?) or vice versa.

I can't wait to hear about Character creation and all the options we are getting. I'm just hoping that our characters don't get too extreme like a Nord that's as fat as a Snorlax or a Female Character's "Oo is that a Sweetroll".

I hope they don't put that in, most people would go with the skinny athletic build to improve their stats, it wouldn't improve diversity.

Please tell me they fixed the skin tone issue as well, if you are able to adjust it anyway, and I hope so. Oblivion made it so you could barely touch the adjuster without making your characters body and head tone almost opposites of each other. =/

Uh, it's not an MMORPG, so what "most people would go with" doesn't matter.

Diversity? You're the only player in the game.

Besides, skinny athletic builds wouldn't be the hardest hitters. Also, not all races are equal when it comes to body type or athleticism.

If body type affected a character's strength, agility, endurance, etc. it would go a long way to off setting the lack of attributes.

I could build a scrappy little breton that uses a bow as his secondary weapon, or a burly orc that beats the snot out of things with a hammer.

Still we need to wait for more info before this issue can be settled.

I'd like to know a lot more about character creation, since that is clearly going to be one of my favorite aspects of the game--I swear my character ADD is going to be worse than in Morrowind.

From what Bethesda said early on, it is quite a bit more limited than previous games. They have preset made parts (noses, eyes, etc) that you can combine into quite a few different faces. That way people won't be making ugly, unrealistic looking characters. Not sure about the body types though. Hopefully they will least have a skinny, fat, or muscular option. I highly doubt they will have sliders for anything though :unsure2:

Still, our cosmetic taste should not be limited by game mechanics is what he was probably referring to.

Why not? Most people didn't make characters that were old, but there were sure as hell old NPCs running around. I want to see the occasional tubby argonian waddling down the lane. Makes for more interesting character variety.

Not necessarily. The available body types could work like this:
- Skinny, more speed/jump height
- Muscular, more strength/carrying capacity
- Fat...I mean stocky, more health/toughness

I think many would choose the Muscular build over the Skinny build.

Hopefully we will get to see that on E3.

I'm hoping for that too.

I'm pretty sure it's not going to be an issue this time. Also the neck seams have been fixed.

Here's a supporter of that option. :D

You should have sliders for the initial creation of the character and then have a dynamic system afterwards.

Carry heavy loads: Build stamina and strength
Drop off heavy loads: Intelligence  (no need to run around with 100 axes :toughninja: ) as you have a lighter load more speed and agility.

Meh i dunno.. everyone knows the way that will do it is going to be kick A5S anyways :D :foodndrink:

Adjustable cup size? Oh yes Skyrim, here we come...

Hmm I hope that we at least can modify the skin tone of all races, especially the argonians. I'll be very sad if I can't make a Black-Red argonian..
