I'm having a problem with the Cheydinhal mage quest (get the Ring of Burden from the well). I started it very early in my new game, and I wasn't properly equipped to get the ring out of the well, so I left Cheydinhal to do the rest of the recommendation quests. After I finished them all, I went back to Cheydinhal only to discover the body gone. I Googled the issue and found that this is a bug, fixed by patching (I had forgotten to patch when I reinstalled the game). I patched, went back to the well, and still no Vidkun.

Any ideas on how to get him to return?
