Bokeh depth of field STILL broken!

Post » Sat Mar 02, 2013 4:30 am

Well after crytek broke dof with the dx 11 patch for crysis 2, looks like they didn't bother to fix it in crysis 3 either

Set post processing to high and aim down a gun, you'll see dof
Set post processing to very high and aim down a gun, no dof

Quite a shame as dof really gives the game a more 3 dimension feel and looks great

The very high bokeh dof seems to be working in cutscenes though, just not gameplay... Exactly like crysis 2...

Good job crytek

I don't understand all this whining about the DoF.
It's not broken. It works differently than the old implementation. You have no idea.

Please explain how it works differently?

Because I've played through crysis 2 about 8 times and crysis 3 3 times thus far and don't see ANY bokeh outside of cutscenes and weapon customization menus...

It's not exactly a subtle effect, it's plainly obvious that it just doesn't work properly

How do you play THROUGH Crysis3 three times when it has been out for one day?

Crytek, any word on if you guys are going to fix bokeh, or are even aware that its broken?

So would you recommend I play on High or Very High post processing for best looking graphics?
