Bonemold, dreugh, and netch leather armor

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 11:46 am

Oblivion lacked some of my favorite armors from Morrowind. Now i know things like belly netch's are native to Morrowind, but i think there is a possibility to have it in skyrim.

And don't say mods will just add these in... i play 360.

No, it's native to Morrowind.

I am definitely for variety. However, the care they are giving the armors that we already know will be in the game (Orcish and Elvin armor for example) are more important to me than the three you mentioned, and I would rather see those armors and perhaps other features added relative to the ones you mentioned. I think that if there were extra resources and there was still some time to add them than I would recommend it, but otherwise its not important to me.

With the Dunmer fleeing from Morrowind it could make sense that some of them is in.

Agreed.

Morrowind had some amazing content and features. They should add that (SPEARS... for instance!); but not what's being native (or only suitable) to Morrowind.
It's like with guars I guess. A very lovable animal... but not fitting for Skyrim.

Dreugh is a maybe though. Who knows?

What about Dreugh? I don't know much about the lore and stuff, but I could have sworn there were Dreugh in Oblivion. And besides, there could be import shops. Like 'Fargoth's Vvardenfell rarities' help him find his ring and he gives you a discount! Then an Imperial trading shop, owned by a short adorable* wood-elf with (evil) blond hair, spiked up... Who may follow you occasionally.

I would be disappointed if the Dunmer refugees did not bring some typical Morrwind stuff with them. Hence yes, I want to see these materials.

Well the reason it lacked your favorite armors is because those armors don't fit in Cyrodiil, since their source of material is unique to Morrowind. Dreugh is the only armor that could've made a comeback in Oblivion but they were land dreugh.

Also, if you remember, the dunmer weren't too fond of outlanders, so chances of the armor of Morrowind coming to Cyrodiil was slim. I doubt they will be in Skyrim and I could care less if they are or not. The chances of them being in Skyrim 160 years after the destruction of Morrowind and the death of all the creatures whose parts make those armors, I doubt they will be in.

Trade with other lands wouldn't be out of the question. If some of the native armors or even animals were of some value they would be circulated at least in the upper tiers of society. In fact, it would have been far more likely to see an amalgam of goods and culture in Cyrodiil the capital of the empire, but perhaps Skyrim has a strong economy and can support imported goods.

Yeah i agree netch and bonemold dont really fit in Cyrodill, but seeing as Skyrim has been infiltrated with a good amount of dunmer some of these seem like possibilitis.

Sure. But I'd expect they would be something quite rare in Skyrim.

Well I still wouldn't see why they would show up in Skyrim either. I mean they could but I don't see any logical reason to actually have them show up. The dunmer retreated to Solstheim, not invading Skyrim.

The only bonemold armor I really liked was the bonemold armor of House Hlaalu.

Just putting Morrowind stuff in the game for the sake of having Morrowind stuff in the game isn't really something I look kindly upon. To me, it implies that Bethesda's completely run out of creative ideas, so they're just playing the nostalgia card and reusing old content as an effortless way to boost the amount of "numbers" the game has: weapons, spells, etc.

I could see one or two ceremonial Dunmer-style item sets being imported into Skyrim from Morrowind though, considering that cities such as Winterhold appear to be quite open to the influx of Dunmer customs after the province exploded. Would be nice to have some ties with previous games - every Elder Scrolls game is different, but they're all still united by lore and they're all part of the rich history of Tamriel.

Although I could be wrong, I'm pretty sure Bonemold armor is native to Morrowind. So that wouldn't really make a lot of sense.

well... yeah, they will. When i still had an imagination when graphics weren't as real looking i though that this bonemold looked awesome though.

some mods remade bonemold in Oblivion that looks really good.

Netch and Bonemold could probably exist, but not as common armor. I don't know if Dreugh live in Skyrim, if they do there may be Dreugh armor, if not there may still be Dreugh armor, but imported form elsewhere, and probably quite rare... it was not very common in Morrowind.

Other armors:
  • Colovian Fur Hat (this is essential!)
  • Trollbone armor
  • Dragonscale armor

I do also expect Skyrim to have all (or at least most) of the armors present in Oblivion.
