Is bonemold even worth using? : V

Especially if I'm going to craft it, that's going to take a lot of bone meal (especially to continue upgrading it down the road) and the fact its just slightly stronger then a steel set, I'm not really sure if I should even bother now. I already have steel plate. I did want it because it looked nice, but doubting it will be protective anymore at higher levels, even after upgrading it. Should I bother to make it?

If you're in the Thieves Guild, there's a quest in Solstheim that will allow you to make an improved version of Bonemold, which is slightly better than Dwarven.

a lot of those sets added should have been made stronger. I'm Rping the use of Dawnguard armor... the stuff is aweful

I believe all the armor can be maxed out damage restience wise, so it all depends on what looks good to you.

Seeing how the practical use of literally every armor set is consistent with every other set, it all comes down to what looks best on your character.

I was excited when I heard bonemold was in Dragonborn, remembering my love for it in morrowind and thus, it did not live up to my expectations.

I second this. I was pretty disappointed with it... and have never used it beyond a curious test run.

The worde offender is Morag Tong...its just the crappy chitin armor. I was really hoping for a modern version of the morrowind armor.

To answer the op..all armor can be maxed just use what you like.

Personally, I like the Dragonborn armors. The bracers actually include gloves, the helmet doesn't show off the back of my neck, and the arms cover the elbows. I do miss the Gah-Julan helmet though.

Also unlike the Morrowind incarnation, it's possible to make DB Bonemold useful even later in the game, given the necessary skills and perks.

You thinking of the TES III Dark Brotherhood armor? In TES III, the only Morag Tong armor was a unique http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Morag_Tong_Helm#Morag_Tong_Helm.

I think Chitin armor really only works if you're roleplaying as the overlord of a mysterious cult of bug-people.

That being considered, Bonemold is definitely a step up.
