Book of Eli character build

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 8:38 am

Just finished watching The Book of Eli movie for a second time. I can say it really enhanced my love for post-apocalyptic media and really really made the wait for Fallout 4 much harder. I'm currently interested in building a character that is similar to him in the movie. For those that have seen the movie, not taking into account he's blind, what S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats and perks do you think he would have if I created him as a character in Fallout 4?

His perception is Superhuman so I would put that high. He's pretty damn strong and agile, fairly intelligent, but maybe not the most charismatic. I feel like he should be above average endurance (all that travel), and maybe you could skimp on the luck stat. Might would go with all fours and reduce CHA and Luck, then add back to strength and endurance. Agility and intelligence you can leave as average, maybe put a few extra in Agility later.

Hard character to build.. Since in the movie he is both blind (yet can see), figuring out his stats is a toughy. . So he has both the outer perception that he would have from seeing and the inner perception he has learned from years of being blind. I'd be inclined to give him a starting perception of 10. . The problem there is that doesn't leave you a lot of points for other stats. All of which would be pretty high for him. He's obviously got everything going for him. He's charismatic, intelligent, agile, tough and strong. So that would make me actually want to role play that type of character from more of a beginnings stand point. Giving him an initial perception of just 1 and building it up as you go. Kind of role playing like he's learning to see with his eyes.. .. Maybe something like 3, 1, 4, 4, 6, 6, 4? And of course the only stat you'd initially work on would be perception. All in all, he's too powerful of a guy to start from scratch. It'd be like saying. I want to build Superman. What would you use for supermans starting stats? Well, they'd all be 20's.

i believe he was born blind before the apocalypse, if i remember correctly there is a tag on his backpack that says my name is Eli. Definitely for a sighted person to see.

honestly was just having fun and a little drunk, I am not a film Nazi or anything. I Just have seen every Zatoichi film multiple times is all

I like the idea of the build. 10 perception then luck and endurance.

oh and Happy Halloween to you

This sounds a nice idea for a character build; great movie, great actor! It's got to be perception :)

Eli needs some gun handling perks and crafting perks too. He hunted a cat and made lip balm and a battery. What i saw in the movies. He is above average shooter and hand to hand fighter.

I didn't realize he was blind, I just thought he could read Braille. Shows how perceptive I am lol.

Glad I've already seen the film before reading this thread.

You all need to use the "spoiler" thing. Or maybe warn people in the title.

He's completely blind. If you watch it a second time there is a lot of things you don't catch the first time when you assume he can see. When he searches the cabin for example he doesn't look at anything he just feels around the shelves with his hands. He doesn't make eye contact with anyone. I actually thought it was a really well done movie and was even more impressed when I watched it the second time and was like "yeah, look at that, he really is blind."
I would put a lot of points into luck as well. I know many are saying not to, but luck would be the only way I can think of in Fallout 4 that could come close to capturing the divine intervention that is prevalent throughout the whole film.

For character development reasons, never start with a 10 stat. You can get items just starting the game, like glasses, to give an extra bonus. Not to forget perks.

Simple, just play the game with the gamma turned way way down so you can barely see anthing.

Not to mention the scene when he walks up the steps to that house, literally kicking the base of the next step to gauge how many steps he's got left to climb.

How bad does it make the wait?! Especially how much it's looks like the fallout wasteland. Can anyone confirm we can use a machete in FO4?
