Books Disappearing!

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 11:37 am

I know this should usually go in the "glitches" section, but nobody even looked at it there, so get over it.

Am I the only one that has this bug where books disappear off your book shelves? I'll fill it up with books, leave for some time then when I get back the books are still on the shelf... BUT!!!.... when I click on the shelf to take books or if it's not full - to add more- the bookshelf deletes some of my books that were there only a second ago.

It really bugs the hell out of me. They dont move or anything, they literally just disappear. If I pick up the books off the shelf manually I can stop it from happening, but I have a huuuuge amount of books and it's extemely tedious to look at each one and take it off the shelf.

Does anyone else have this? I searched google and as far as I can tell, i'm the only one.

Nope, http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&v=BNpum5lDbt8

Even when I manually take them to replace them on the shelf, when I open the container menu for the shelf, which can hold 18 books, only lets me put 2-4 back before it says it can fit no more books :/

Did you consider making an exorcism? Contact a Markarth Priest. I can give you his mobile number if you want.

Ignore the "mobile number" part, that was a joke. The exorcism part (if you can call it exorcism in Skyrim) however, is true. Do other things move as well, or is it books only? If this is happening in your house, it means you have a 'Daedroth' Possesion and you have to contact a certain priest in Markarth (forgot his name). He will tell you to fill a Grand soul gem with a soul taken from a daedra (you can find 4 of them in Mehrune Dagon's Shrine) and bring it back to him. Then he will exorcise your house and you'll have to kill the Daedra possessing your house. It happened to me once before.

They are some kind of lizard. It's supposed to be animated with the little ones popping off the large one like bubbles.

I think it's filesize is too big to have it animated for these forums.

Nah, it's a glitch. They dont actually *move* they just disappear. And now I'm curious about this, you joking or is it a real quest? If so, where do I start it? o.o Does the guy with the cool frog* profile picture know about this? *pokes*

It's a random event. I had three playthroughs with three totally different characters. 2 of them bought the same house in Windhelm but only one of them had a Daedroth Possession in the said Windhelm house. It's a totally random quest I guess. Books were moving everywhere and they had a yellowish magic outline to them, and not only books, but ingredients, goblets and other things as well.
