books have been removed from elderscrolls titles.

Post » Fri Mar 28, 2014 3:44 pm

i hated the fact that every video and live stream i have seen to date about eso has spam raced click open shut the books in elderscrolls online just to grab the reward of immediate skill increase.

in morrowind and skyrim i read every single book i could get my hands on. books increase intelligence, imagination, exercises our minds.

i for one will be reading every book and secret i can find in morrowind i mean elderscrolls online. i can only hope i am not alone in this desire.

i am fearfull that bethesda and zenimax may one day no longer put books into the elderscrolls titles. please take time to read the books and encourage this more then awesome design they have placed within Tamriel.

I understand your worries, but I highly doubt that would ever happen. I mean on the contrary they are created more books with each game and adding to the library.

The power levelers seem not to care at all and just want to race to 50++ so they can kill people. Their loss, I guess. So far, the developers seem not to have been forced to forget the game they are designing.

Books are important both in ESO and in that fantasy-horror game called "RealWorld".

Books still be there and ZOS did add new ones as well. Keep in mind, ESO is 1,000 years thus some of the books are not be written yet going by the time line.

How does Khajiit exit the game of "Realworld" and move to "ESO-World?"

If not mistaken all books you read can be reread at any time. That means that i will be "racing" dungeons and later on i will sit in my chair by the fire and read some books.

I believe the books are added to your library. So even if you happen to be in a situation where you click on a book but are unable to read it (in the middle of a dungeon or something) you can find the book in the library later and read it in peace when you have the time.

What I would like to see is a small quiz that pops up when you close a skill book and you only get the extra point if you can get a B or better on the quiz.

You can't expect everyone to just read them. Also skipping reading books in a game doesn't mean that person doesn't enjoy reading books and a streamer reading an in-game book mid-stream generally isn't going to be very interesting for people watching.

Most of the books in the game I've already read, many several times, from reading them in previous ES titles. So unless it's a book I don't recognise I'm likely going to be skipping a lot as well.

I did not read books during beta, because that is content i plan on experiencing during the Live Game :) Plus i do this in skyrim where I've already read a majority of them lol.

Please spread no hoaxes.

I bet you never had found an single book in ESO. So your post is just an bit of fail. Sorry. But not all books contain souch stuff and they arent instant repeatable. 1 book 1 reward . 1 x not that kind of hoax you spread. and it wont be removed for sure. Then the whole mages guild haves to close.

Proves again: you have to try that game 1st before judging by fake videos etc.

/edit: remembering this old bug which got fixed at later morrowind patches. But that was years ago.

I think it's fair to say that most, if not all, of those videos showcase a player that can be in one or more of several scenarios. Three of which may be seen as...

  1. A tester that is actually testing the game and is trying to advance as efficiently as possible.
  2. An aggressive progresser will be more attracted to the combat aspect.
  3. An average player that is just playing but not wanting to spoil too much before the official release.

Granted, some videos are dubbed as LPs but it's still part of the beta. Of which will all be wiped at launch, anyway. Thus no incentive to get too involved in some of the finer aspects of the game.

I also didn't read a thing in Beta knowing that I'd have all the time in a world once the game launched :)

Then again I also find myself actively hunting down books to read or trying to figure out the melody of some of the songs you find lyrics to.

Whenever I find a book like "The Lusty Argonian", I'll read it. It just depends on the first sentences or the Title of the book. Don't judge a book by it's cover, I know, but hey :P

They will never remove books from Elder Scrolls games. Just because you like to stop and read them does not mean everyone else does. Just enjoy the game yourself, and let others play how they enjoy playing.

Personally, I never read books when I find them. Instead I will read a few before I log off, or while I RP in a tavern or library.

I mean the endless skillbook using. That guys used the editor to manipulate them. Or it was an general bug. There where also custom made bugfixes for that. Long Storry short sense: the comunity and them fixed it together at that old times.

/edit: i made my own "cheats" with that open world editor :).

Made 1 skillbook with 1000000 sp for example and putted it into an suitable place.

I did not read any of the books in beta and frankly skipped the majority of the voice acting too. I plan on saving every bit of that for real character development and game play on release. It helps to keep the spoilers down while still getting to provide some testing and feedback to Zos.

As far as live stream and video on YouTube goes... they may or may not read it on their own... but trying to read it in the video is a bad idea. You either read faster then most of your viewers or slower... in any case you will tick a bunch of folks of either because you go to slow and they have to wait... or you go to fast and they did not finish. :)

They will never remove the books from the games. They have to come up with the lore anyway, so they might as well put them inside of books within the game. There are whole web sites dedicated to TES lore. That said:

Nothing personal, but I am going to ignore your plea. I really do not have the time, nor the desire, to read through countless books on things that don't really interest me. I can appreciate that you, and many others, do, and so do the devs. Rest assured, they will not remove books from the game just because i didn't read them. :)
