Books on the King of worms

Post » Wed Mar 10, 2010 11:11 pm

Does any one have a list of lore books about Mainimarrco, he's my favourite character from lore and i want to learn more about him.

On another note, is he really dead?

I mean it found retarded when in oblivion the mighty king of worms who is a lich and god, faces your as a scrawny little high elf and gets killed easely, surely mainimarcco isn't so stupid that he thinks you'll fall for that?

For all we know yes he is dead, the mortal King of worms was killed by the CoC. If your unhappy about his death and is appearance many others are, some have even made mods to make him a more formidable opponent and to make him look more lich like

http://www.imperial-library.info/tsod/ is one of the best sources on him; though there's also http://www.imperial-library.info/obbooks/mannimarco.shtml and http://www.imperial-library.info/mwbooks/arkay_enemy.shtml

You might also look at the http://www.imperial-library.info/characters/daggerfall.shtml...

He's also mentioned in:
http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/nu-hatta.shtml
http://www.imperial-library.info/obbooks/black_arts_on_trial.shtml
http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/complete_dragonbroke.shtml
http://www.imperial-library.info/interviews/writers.shtml

And no, he's not dead; http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=532410&hl=Boring++Therefore++Wrong for more info... :)

But it just seems so impossible.

I mean He is The GOD of worms, How did he fall agianst an average human adventurer, I think he just sent a decoy in his place.
So now everyone thinks the Worm-king is dead and he can keep on working in secret without enterference from the mages guild.

I still can't believe the COC fell for that trick  I mean, he could have at least put an enchantment on the fake mainimarrco to made him look like a lich

Not Necessarily.

You see, there is a GOD of worms, and a KING of Worms. Mannimarco ascended and became A God-the God of Worms. But then Akatosh's Jills went and fixed the Dragon Break, and Mannimarco got "demoted,"-The king of Worms, but The God of Worms still Remained.

So really, there are Multiple Mannimarcos.

But that still dosen't mean mannimarco (The Non-god one) isn't a lich.

And I think being a lich Meana you'd be strong enough to take down the COC.

By the way another 2 questions.

Why dosen't mannimarco try to become a god agian?
How do you become a god, apart from the heart of lorkhan(Which I doubt is actually destroyed just freed from being a pyisical entity)?

Oh and thakns for the list luagar2. :)

1) He is technically already one so why try?
2) Numdium, and other assorted ways that I forgot.

Why cant you accept that Mannimarco the King of worms is dead? The CoC was strong enough to take on a huge invasion of Daedra, Mantle Sheo and revived the Knights of nine and defeating a powerful Ayleid/daedra king who arguebly is stronger than the king of worms

He moreso just...walked in and took his place; Sheog did sorta just...give him the positions before "turning into" Jyg.

Mantling is moreso emulating a god(s) rather than just becoming one; see Tiber Septim, Zurin Arctus, Wulfharth, and their apotheosis into Talos.

It says here he could raise an army of undead, Why didn't he use said army agianst the COC?

The Anwser is that it wasn't Mannimarco at all!

If Vehk the god didn't kill Nerevar but Vehk the mortal did, then Vivec isn't Vehk then! ...yet he says otherwise, in more than one case...

You're currently using faulty logic, but I'll chock that up to lore inexperience. In my eyes, concerning certain cases of apotheosis, the god version is different than the mortal version, yet because teh god version remembers BEING the mortal version, they are still, in a way, the same person.

Mannimarco died in Oblivion; Mannimarco was also a god in Oblivion (as far as we know; it ain't like we found out otherwise).

Hmmn, maybe like this: Mannimarco the lich could have been the avatar (recurring) of the non-sentient moon orbiting Arkay. But because of the actions of the Jills, incarnation was separated from deity.

Edit: Thought I fixed that bugger...

When you say recurring do you mean the avatar appears every once in a while in the world?

Think I know what you're thinking about; he's not the Underking. That's something different.

Recall that Shor is seen as the God of the Underworld to the Nords.

Being a lich/god wasn't enough for the King of Miscarcand. But either way, Mannimarco was supposedly thwarted by the Colossal Soul Gem, even though it doesn't actually do anything. Either way, he would probably be between one sixth and one seventh of the power of Arkay, given he can eclipse him but once a week.

When he was destroyed, the Necromancer's Moon remained. And either way, being able to become a mortal from a lich probably requires a lot of power.

On a last note, I think that http://www.imperial-library.info/mwbooks/corpse_preparation.shtmlwas probably written by one of his underlings.

I'm in the process of making a Necromancer who will worship him. Is there any books in the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion game (On Xbox 360)

I would like to have some.
