So I only know for sure that the house in Whiterun has this problem, but here goes.

Bookshelf when you first enter the home is now glitched, it shows books that I have removed from it still being there, and wont let me pick them up. It also now will not let me select the bookshelf. So now there is a book, and a couple notes stuck there even though I already moved them to the other bookshelf in the back room. Basically, this bookshelf is completely broken. I cant do anything with it.

The weapon rack when you first enter the home has never worked for me. It does not allow you to activate it, I have tried everything. It simply will not let you interact with it.

I have this problem also in Whiterun. It's the only house i've bought so far, but I can't access the weapon racks. I am playing on 360. Collection and display are a HUGE part of Elder Scrolls games for me, and now that they have finally added an option to properly display weapons, it won't work! I was SO let down when my friend said he could on PS3 and I can't. No option comes up on the weapon rack or wall mounts whatsoever, even with proper weapons equipped. Strangely enough my bookshelves work fine. I can't understand how these glitches completely differ from person to person on the same system, but whatever it is, PLEASE fix this Bethesda!!!!

I got a different problem - my Bookshelf has forgotten all the books I've put in it, but not its carrying capacity, so now all my books disappear if I ever access that particular bookshelf and there're only 6 empty slots left. Luckily I can still read and take the books off the shelf manually.

If only I could reset its carrying capacity somehow, at least it'd help...

It seems that houses are a buggy mess. I have mannequins that move on their own and all of my house's items phased through the furniture a few days ago. It looked like a tornado went through the place. There are still some ingredients in the basemant that are stuck under cabinets that I can't reach. It really pisses me off. And the bookshelves never worked for me anyway. When I put books in them, they all fall down like dominoes. They never stood up. Are all houses that bad or just the one in Riften?

well im having a issues with the Whiterun house and other stuff to tho not exactly the same though...mine is the book shelve downstairs just disappears tho the books can still be grabbed and so on i just cant put any on it as its gone and the books are floating in mid area also the wall up stairs right above the stairs leading to the bedroom disappears at times plus the weapons racks are glitched to some weapons like bows if i put one on there it takes all the bows i have on me and put them in mid air above the bed and the one next to the dresser outside the room put long blades and so on far to the right sorta in the wood pillar instead of the middle of the rack...that's all ive noticed so far in the house tho the stuff disappearing is easily fixed by leaving and re entering

ive also come across a quest i was doing and i came across a dead body i had killed that had a item saying something like "Item name not entered yet" or something then once i grabbed it game froze for a minute and i never saw it again.... as to which quest i was doing no clue sadly

note i also had the game original installed before all this and knowing it had issues only once i removed it and cleared my system catch and so on did i start having major issues like this and so on now even with the game removed i am having all the bugs mentions even the lighting issues and reinstalling it does not fix it anymore....

also at random points the game locks my entire console up and it completely freezes not just the game but the entire console this usually happens during loading scenes where i can move around those icon things with my game pad sticks

well either despite the games massive glitches right now im still finding myself massively addicted and playing it

For me, the upstairs weapon mount doesn't work in Whiterun. I also purchased the house in Markarth, which is an awesome house and where I want to move all my stuff to, but NONE of the weapon racks and wall mounts work at all in the house, which is very disappointing. This needs to be fixed!

Here's my story:

I have the house in Markarth, and I loaded the bookshelves to the brim with books. Then I saved facing the shelves and went to bed.

The next day when I loaded up the game, something happened... The bookshelves had disappeared, and they only clipped back in once I started moving around. All of my books were laying in piles on the floor, and anything that was sitting on a table or shelf was strewn around the room like a tornado went through the house. The only things that were spared were the weapons and armour in their racks.

I tried to reset my bookshelves but somehow they glitched and said I could put more on there even though they were full, or it said I had 8 slots (of 18) when the shelf was empty. Once I tried to pick them up manually, I couldn't re-access the shelf to put the books back in. I ended up having to load the autosave from entering the building and everything was fine since.

So... Word of caution - if you're a collector like me, DO NOT SAVE YOUR GAME in close proximity to full bookshelves!

PS - the dagger display cases don't work very well either. Over time the daggers slide out of the side of them and end up floating in the air.

Don't put your Wooden Mask (or any highly valuable or unique item) in a display case, no matter which house it is... it may just disappear. It happened to me.

Basically just spent an hour trying fireballs and telekinesis on the corner of the wall behind the display case where my Wooden Mask disappeared from, trying to get it to glitch back out from inside the wall or wherever it ended up (other masks ended up on the floor thankfully).

Arch-Mage's Chambers are no good... if it's supposed to be a residence shouldn't objects stay where you put them instead of blasting out of their cases and going all over the room, or through the walls?

Really frustrated and concerned that my planned completionist playthrough may already be compromised. It's either replay 4 hours from the last save I had before putting it there, or give up. I have seen Oblivion, and it is the murky blue outside the Arch-Mage's windows where my dreams of powerful artifacts go to die.

I'm having the same problems in my Markarth home, but only with weapon racks. It will not let me interact with them, but it does let me use the mannequin which is very awesome by the way.

I have the same issue with the weapon rack but it's for both houses I own, the one in Whiterun and the one in Solitude.

I had the same problem on my first run but then I saw a post that said to buy all the house decorations together at the same time and on this run its fine.
