So occasionally when Boone and I are in the thick of a battle, he'll start reloading, and won't stop. I have to go into his inventory, move whatever weapon he's using from his inventory to mine and then back again. It's not really that annoying, except when I don't realize it until after a skirmish and Boone has been worthless for 8/10ths of the fight.

I have stopped giving followers weapons for many reasons. Ammo issues is the main one. Their default weapons are near to the best version of that weapon in the game, and it uses the magical companion ammo they never run out of. Any other weapons may require you to give them ammo, and then they just spray it all over the place and waste it.

As for Boone, is his gun needing to be repaired? That could be why it jams on him.

No he's using a near perfect condition cowboy repeater. What's his default weapon? I think either he or I lost it or sold it along the way unfortunately. It's not too much of a hassle keeping him supplied, and he's deadly as hell with the cowboy repeater, this glitch it just cutting down on his effectiveness.
