boring wasteland

Post » Mon Mar 29, 2010 2:54 pm

I thnk this should be a perk in the next dlc cause the wild wasteland is really making the game worse for me cause i want the ycs/180 and if it is a perk it should take the alien blaster if you have it and anything else caused by that horrible thing that they call a perk

Wild Wasteland is a trait.
And they warned you in the description, should've checked the wiki first :P.

i agree, but wild wastland doesn't add all that much in way of random encounters so thats not a soloution to the lack of random encounters in the game...well you can always find other games to play until FO4 comes out.

I dont think the wild waste land trait did anything!! It barly makes the game any different.

Spoiler
There are 17 "encounters" and most of them are pretty hard to catch/ make sense of. The only true difference in gameplay is obtaining the Holy Frag Grenades (Only in Wild Wasteland) Alien Blaster (Wild Wasteland) however you do NOT get the unique YCS/186 Guass Rifle. Other than that, the "encounters" ...well it depends... I merely chuckled at them (like the R.O.U.S.) but others might think differently.

Whether or not it affects the gameplay is how the players perceived the "encounters" and then they can decide if it was a good trait or not.
However IMO most people who say the trait is bad is because they don't get the YCS/186 and/or they don't get the references.

Then obviously don't take that trait if that's the weapon you want.

If you are on the PC you can just add the unique guass rifle to your game. It's very easy to do. To make it a challenge place it in a certain very dangerous part of the map across the river.

Yah anyways thats pointless. Why would they give you a epic gun with VERY limited ammo count.

A little something called 'Game Balance'.

Something that Bethesda even cared about a little, as they only let you get a limited amount of ammo for the Alien Blaster in FO3 too.

Yes really.

In F3 you had mothership Zeta to get those alien rounds.

Well yeah, Bethesda completely threw game balance out the window with the DLC. What with the Chinese Stealth armour in OA and all the alien weaponry in MZ.

But pre DLC there was at least some semblance of balance.

I like the wild wasteland trait it adds a few inside jokes to the game, i dont care about not having the unique gauss rifle its not that big of a game changer. In Fo3 i liked having the stealth armor and other fun things that allowed you to do some things differently than your would normally. the alien blaster is fun to use but wouldnt the game get boring if you can kill everything in two shots?

The YCS/186 and Alien Blaster both kill things in pretty much one shot, so players don't feel they have been cheated for a weaker weapon.
