BoS and the Yes Man!

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 11:19 pm

I am currently on the quest Wild Card: Side Bets. I have talked to every group available for the Yes Man's "ignore this faction?". What my problem is or at least my lack of understanding is, why do I only have the option to Ignore the Brotherhood of Steel when I talk to the Yes Man? I have completed "Still in the Dark", "Eyesight to the Blind", got power armor training, and became a Paladin in the BoS but yet, the only option when talking to the Yes Man about the BoS is "I need to find out more" or "Ignore them". Wtf?! There is also no other dialogue or speech options with Elder McNamara after doing all these things. Just "What can I help you with?" and "What is this 'lockdown'?" Are there any other quests in the quest chain for the BoS? It's annoying the hell out of me. Am I stupid here? Or is this NOT a ID10T error?

Please my BOIs! Guide me to victory!

All help is appreciated(surprise I know) . Those with the answers get gold stars :D

+1

Same story here, even raised faction reputation via console from "Liked" to "Idolized" with no effect on the quest or conversation with McNamara.

You have 2 options: destroy their base or ignore them.
...or did you actually think the BoS would play nice with you during the battle at Hoover Dam when you've got an army of advanced technology at your beck and call? Keyword is BoS and advanced technology.

Based on the Wikia article on the quest (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Wild_Card:_Side_Bets) which states "You may get the faction to like you, you then can tell Yes Man that they are on your side" I highly doubt that you can't make them join in the final battle, seems very weird to have them included in the quest otherwise.

If you can get the BoS to support the NCR, then you can tell Yes Man that instead of ignoring them. They won't be on your side, though.

Alright, I also found this thread:http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/959557-fallout-new-vegas/56902798, where someone says that there actually will be atleast some paladins fighting on your side if you choose to ally yourself with both of them.

What makes me believe that "Ignore the Brotherhood" could be a bug is because what you tell Yes Man to do is considered Optional just like you can with all the other factions where you can tell Yes Man to ignore them (optional) or you've dealt with them in some ways.
