BoS. or Enclave

Post » Sun Jan 09, 2011 9:24 am

Well I'm just wondering who the good guys are the Botherhood or the Enclave, people say the Brotherhood are all good I dont think so they just want technology, and they dont really have any interest in restoring the country or protecting people, while the Enclave does care about restoring the country...sure there "plans" are a little extreme but like Eden says sacrifices must be made for the good of the country, Eden actually care's about restoring the country even if he is a computer, he is capable of rational thought and such, I also think the Enclave are more powerfull, and that they are the "true" goverment, and that brings another question up, which one is actually the real goverment as in which ones are connected to the millitary? ( I think its the Enclave) "God bless the enclave and god bless America" :P

Most people who say BoS are good are FO3 players. East Coast Enclave>East Coast BoS. West Coast BoS>West Coast Enclave

The Enclave is the ''true'' American government, while BoS was originally from the United States Military, they deserted after they found out about the FEV experiments. Also, the BoS do have an interest in restoring civilization, they just have a far different way of going about it. Anyways, the Enclave generally is more powerful than the Brotherhood of Steel due to technology and size, the Brotherhood still has a very strict recruitment policy in the West, a much easier recruitment policy in the Mid-west, and then the Eastern Brotherhood has a policy that really makes no sense (They complain about now having enough manpower to survive, but Sarah Lyons is very quick to blow off any offers of joining...). Now in Fallout 3, both factions were made far more ''good'' then they were in FO1 and FO2. West Coast Enclave want to destroy everyone who is not Enclave or a Vault-Dweller, while if I remember correctly East Coast Enclave just wants to destroy true mutants, ghouls and supermutants. But to answer your question of whose who more powerful: Probably the Brotherhood mainly because the Enclave has very few allies.

Edit for Mothershipzeta: I presume the last president was the President from Fallout 2 (Richardson? Can't remember his name). He got blasted by the Chosen One. Now there might be others who filled in the gap between Richardson? and Eden but apparently they weren't of much merit to be mentioned in the lore.

Which Brotherhood are we talking about?

I still like the Enclave better. And, please, don't say I'm morally messed up because I support genocide or something, it's a [censored] game. I like the Enclave as the badass antagonist they are.

Im also with the Enclave since they are the "true goverment" Im a huge patriot haha, and the Enclave soldiers seem kind of "mean" the col. Autum (might be misspelled) tries to kill you among other things.

If Government comes from the people, then the "true" governments are that of NCR, Vault City, Etc.

The WBOS and EBOS arent a government and never claimed to be so.

I liked the B.O.S. outcasts, when I heard F: NV was taking place on the west coast I was excited to see the real Brotherhood, then I realized their armor wouldn't be badass like the Outcasts, oh well.

I guess I'm for the Brotherhood of Steel out of those choices.

Well, the Enclave were the good guys at the end of Fallout 3. The Brotherhood were foolish idealists who decided to attack another group, who shared their cause. Simply because they wanted to be the ones to save the world.

This all depends on your idea of "good guys." Their plan in FO3 was a smaller more half baked version of their plan in FO2. FO2 their plan was to use a modded airborn mariposa FEV to kill all mutations IE: Everyone and everything not given an inoculation to their FEV. It was to be sent into the Jet stream and taken around the world.
Spoiler
one way to get off the rig is to convince one of the Enclave scientists to give you and the Vault 13 and Arroyo prisoners an inoculation against the FEV. He then lets the FEV out into the Rig, killing all not in Power Armour.

FO3 their plan is to infect project purity with a water born version of FEV. I called this plan half baked because it all came down to "Gosh, I hope the Lone Wanderer helps us". With the original ending their plan would have infected all the water in the Tidal basin and water in the rivers as well. With Broken Steel their plan becomes even more lame, the water is now dispensed by the BoS by drums. The water in the Basin and Rivers was not cleaned only the water in project purity is clean. Point is I am sure the Enclave in FO3 would have an inoculation against their modded FEV they used in FO3. Their goals would be much the same. Only thoses they see fit to live like FO2 mutations include everyone and everything in the wasteland not inoculated.

So unless you are on their good side they are your enemy in the end. They don't want to save every wastelander only those pure enough. Both Enclave on the West Coast and East Coast have been destroyed. I don't want them back, so my money is on the BoS.

All that being said there are three BoS groups. Original West Coast BoS, Midwestern BoS and Eastern BoS under Lyons. West BoS don't share and they don't help, they have no intrest in ruling or running anything. Midwest BoS do help but they will kill anyone and anything that does not give into their demands, still not interested in running anything. BoS in East, are helpful but don't have the numbers to do anything, and the Enclave could have killed them easy but for some reason did not.

I would side with Midwestern BoS, they have the numbers to get things done and they don't care if a few wastelanders die, they have Labour camps and use prisoners to transport radioactive cargo (under the watchful eyes of power armourd guards.) Western BoS because they have the tech and are just the original bad asses that started it all. I would not pick Eastern BoS, to few in numbers and would get their asses handed to them.

Not quite, thats the Presidents plan (but it is half baked). Col. Autumn rebels against the President, with a large contingent of the Enclave due to disagreeing with this plan.

These rebels (the bulk of the enclave), do not want to poison the water supply, they want to produce clean water. These Enclave remnants were more interested in unifying the wasteland than destroying all 'impurities'
The Brotherhood attack the Enclave because they want to be the ones who are the good guys, not because they are (or ever where, at any point) The Enclave fought back, because they believed that the Lone Wanderer was going to carry out the Presidents plan ~ as that was the premise under which he escaped.

If the Enclave adopt Col. Autumn's ideals then I would side with the Enclave. If they stick with their orginal goal of "kill everything that is not one of us" ideals then no. Col. Autumn did not want to use the FEV but he still got his ass kicked. Enclave went West because Eden ordered them to. He did that because they got their asses kicked on the West Coast. With Col. Autumn turning on Eden there would be a civil war which would drain more power from the Enclave. With Broken Steel they got their ass kicked a third time. How may more times must we kill them?

If we see them again I want them to be like Col. Autumn wanted them to be. For them to be good and start rebuilding things not on a quest to commit mass genocide.

Only played FO3, yet i didn't like the self righteousness of the Brotherhood and tended to lean towards the bad guys, though continuously shooting at me wore a bit thin as well as the propaganda radio.
Can i say neither? How about the hippies hidden in their secret garden with the talking tree! now that seemed like a nice place.
