BoS Mecha

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:12 am

Story
After the events in the capital waste land plans of liberty prime were sent to 5 BoS stations in hopes of re building it. Sadly 4 of the 5 were... how you say blown up by super mutants. The 5th one was located in Kentucky but instead of rebuilding him they decided to turn it into a Mecha. With the plans it made it easier. They just had to modify. What they did was replace the Nukes with a engine, Hollowed the chest a little and placed a small cockpit, they fixed the eye to feed to the cockpit so the driver could see and be protected by the front plate, Last they replaced the hands with machine guns so it has a way to fight. 3 Liberty Mark 321 were released just a year after they started to be built.
Now a war is arising that the BoS has sent its whole army.
To the south a new enemy has arisen Called the red arrow. A Faction of the southern states which has the ability to tame animals. There army is twice the size of the BoS and the Red arrows have been rivals sense a event in texas where the BoS killed a member thinking he was a monster.
Hopefully with this new Weapon the BoS can fight off this foe. Or is it to late for them to win.

There is only two Brotherhood bases on the east coast.
Outcasts and Lyons Brotherhood.

They could barely get the original Optimus Prime working, how would they ever be able to modify him to be better than the original?

And Red Arrow.... Beastmasters? Didn't kinda get killed in Tactics?

Beastlords were a group of cannibalistic tribals who underwent a mutation which gave them psychic control over various animals. They were fond of poison, which can cause problems for even the most stalwart of bands. Their leader was Emperor Daarr.

The Beastlords inherent telepathic suggestion was a unique ability, acquired through prolonged exposure to an unknown radiation present within Mardin's underground caves. The creatures controlled by Beastlords included giant cockroaches, giant wasps, komodo dragons, brahmins, dogs, wolves, giant rats and radscorpions. While they weren't able to control the intelligent deathclaws, they forced them to serve them by holding the Deathclaw Matriarch hostage.

Theirs a huge difference as Ill show in a nother thread. There power and size far out number them.

What the... What?! A... Mecha?!!

A Mecha is short for mechanized walker. There very deadly things in most sifi games.

I know what a freaking Mecha is, I'm a Mechassault Fan. I just think that it isn't a... good idea and that it won't fit.

Look man. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped. The thing is, is that I just don't think that would be appropriate for a world that was barely able to produce energy weapons. Liberty Prime in itself didn't really fit into the world.

I think you need to think this thing though and write a fanfic. Then we'd be able to appreciate it more.

you do have a good point
liberty prime was freaky just looking at. And his catch phrases anoid me to no end.
and just the fact he had infenent mini nukes made me wonder where the f*** he got them. But I think this mecha is nine times more practical. Then again what if it was just a new type of suit that made the user cut off his hands and replace them with guns.
We haven't seen any one who lived with out a hand and I think it would scare the hell out of players to fight a guy who had 2 sub machine guns for hands just plowing down death claws.
what you think.

and fattoler
I would rather write a fan fic on a faction then a robot that has a human in its chest.

a picture of an ncr ranger showed him with a minigun for a hand but if your guy has two miniguns how would he reloud with out a hand? but good idea and also if the brotherhood wouldn't have had optumis prime the enclave would have won them winning with optamis prime was bull s*** cuz a vertabird could have flown behind him and shoot his nukes causing him to explode and it wasn't fare that you couldn't help the enclave instead of being forced to help lyons

Well, speaking from the Brotherhood point of view, i would love to see mecha, but it does not fit in the Fallout universe really. The closest we will ever get is the power armor the Enclave and Brotherhood have, and LIBERTY Prime( Not Optimus prime as the Enclave crybabies who LOST the purifier are still bitter about, granted they had to use a stupid orbital missile system to take him down, the pansies can't take him in a real head on fight, but i am off subject) Power Armor and Liberty Prime are as close to Mecha as we are ever going to get, especially with the ruined industrial base and the lack of major working industry in most cities, and that it would not really fit, sorry to say.

ya but they have the power to power tons of lazer weapons, power all there bases, and power liberty prime. so why wouldn't something that would take half of the power liberty prime used be able to be powered (to tell the truth I dont know how much energy would be needed between the 2 but im sure the Mecha needs less)

I just think it is demeaning and stupid to call Liberty optimus, seriously, i won't get into a flame war over it, but if people want to call him optimus, i won't stop them, i mean just show some respect to the writers at least if you don't like him, at least he does not transform into a military truck that hauls nukes and shoots lasers out of his headlights.

You aren't saying that it BEGS to be mocked and called Optimus? FFS it's called Liberty Prime, it's a giant robot, and it spouts cheesy one liners. It's like the Devs WANTED it be called Optimus Prime man!

Indeed, plus a giant robot is a stupidly [censored] "super weapon" when your enemy had tactical nukes or you know tanks that can see it coming and blow it up from miles away while the only weapons it has are only ranged at what several hundred yards? IF Optimus was set to be invincible he would have been destroyed by the first few Vertibird mini-nukes.

I like the idea of BoS having cool technology and all but you have to understand they just can't be like "Hey, we are the BoS lets make some cool, never before seen things with all of these broken parts laying around, and we can do it. Because we are the brotherhood [censored]ES"

Sorry, this is still the wasteland, they don't make technology. They salvage it.

I did some investigating, in Peter Cullen's(AKA Optimus Prime) biography, his wiki page, the Voice credits for Fallout 3, and the credits on Vault Wiki to back it up, and that is not his voice.

I will state for the record i do not mind people using the name, if people want to use the name, bash Liberty Prime, make fun of him, tear him apart for his Anti communist phrases, more power to you, but in my case, i like him, he is funny, and i like those phrases as they are from a bygone era where we use to live in fear of an enemy who were just as afraid of us as we were of them. How he lobs Nukes like footballs is just as funny as well, like a twenty foot tall quarterback, both are funny and stupid. But his history of how he was made by Robco and General Atomics, but they never worked out the problems, i can see that, and it sounds like it is workable for the tech level of the 21st century before the planet went to [censored]. It is these factors, and that he was designed to take a lot of punishment to laser and small arms fire that makes him cool at least to me. I agree why did no one shoot the nukes on his back, or so many other things to take him out, but that is not how the game designers wanted it to be, he is a walking tank that can take a LOT of punishment, and you saw what it took to stop him, i thought it was fair.

So in closing, i do not want to get into a argument, i'm just stating i simply respect and like Liberty, it bothers me a little to see him called something Liberty is not, but i am an advlt, and respect your opinions, and your wanting to knock him for being not very believable, after all, it is funny him saying better dead than red.

better dead than red.

I must say, while I don't particularly like Liberty Prime, I love his catchphrases. They frame the mindset of the 1950s "Red Scare" propaganda perfectly.
