Having a bit of trouble finding the missing Laser Pistol during the unmarked quest given to you by the BoS Hidden Valley Supply Clerk. Any hints as to where it can be located? All the BoS initiate could tell me was he dropped it on a ledge, near a corpse, after fleeing from Bark Scorpions. If someone can narrow that down a bit more, it would be greatly appreciated since its such a royal pain to find a single loose item that can literally be laying anywhere on the wasteland floor >.<

Directly out of the BoS base, there should be a broken portion of the fence leading into a narrow canyon; This will eventually open up to the place where the "Missing Laser Pistol" is sitting on a rock with a dead Prospector nearby.

You can't give a regular laser pistol, because the missing one is unique. You can ask why you can't just bring any laser pistol to her, but I didn't bother to pick that option.

Need a map. I can't find it. Or a screenshot, hotcold detector, wishing stone, wishing pond, or any other marginally helpful advice on where this thing is. I have found dead prospectors down many narrow canyons with nothing other than a an entire surrounding area of big rocks.

Found it. It's in a sinkhole in scorpions glutch. Its at the bottom of this deep area. You can get to it down the narrow canyon thing, but the dead prospector isn't anywhere near it at all. And just to throw people off I found like 2 or 3 dead ones there. So ignore that red herring. It can be reached from the bunker going southeast and through the break int he fence. Proper directions, learn them.

As the name implies it surrounded by scorpions. I was at level 20 and seen a few bark but mainly giants.

arghh i can't find it, looked everywhere, was it in the ledge with the grave? i went through this area before i got the quest, i hope i didn't pick it up already and drop it or sell it, does anyone know the refid for it?

Make sure you have talked to the firing range guy and then the student in the class room and then the easiest way to the pistol is to fast travel to the scorpion place and you will be right next to the rock that it sits on.

Found it. Just as you said. Fast travel to Radscorpion Gulch, turn around going clockwise and you can't miss it, sitting right on top of a rock, almost eye level.

Just be quick about it because fast travel puts you in the midst of about a half dozen Giant Radscorpions and twice that number in Bark Scorpions.
