BOS VS NCR

Post » Sat Jan 30, 2010 4:22 pm

If the BOS from both coasts teamed up and faced the NCR who would win. Now the BOS doesn't have liberty prime in this fight, but does have ample supplies and men. I don't know of any super weapons the NCR posses being that i was only 5 when fallout came out. Leave details on super weapons either side possessed and any factors that might decisively change the battle.

The NCR would attack the BOS first. Not the other way around. NCR sees the BOS as enemies. The East Coast BOS doesn't give a crap.

I personally would like the EC BOS to win. Mainly because they are the good guys and help people while the NCR charges for taxes and sits on their bums complaining about there not being enough troops.

BOS all the way, The NCR has become a power hungry faction, strangling its citizens of thier freedom and rights.

This thread is kinda pointless cause of Helios One.
Even if Lyons Brotherhood had Liberty Prime up and working again they would still fall due to NCR's numbers.
Maybe Mid-Western Brotherhood could stand a chance against them, but the rest are goners.

.....and this gives them an disadvantage in combat how?

Personally I hate both the BoS and NCR (except maybe the Midwestern Brotherhood) but in all likelyhood the NCR would win everytime.

Western BoS are so set in their ways and would most likely waste time punishing Lyons and his people while their numbers dwindle and NCR just surrounds their bases and slowly smothers the BoS. Only ones that have a shot are MWBoS and thats only if Bethesda does not write them off as small faction in Chicago.

The BoS is a stagnant organization doomed to eventual total destruction. They will not survive past the the start of the 25th century at the most; it shocks me that I believe they'll make it into the 24th. Lyons from the East would present a somewhat unique, but smaller, threat. I have not played Tactics and know too little about the BoS there to make a case for or against their survival.

The question is if East, Midwest, and Western chapters settled their differences, and said, "let's finish this?"

BoS, they'd have superior tech, less enemies, and equal numbers

The Midwestern Brotherhood has a chance since they draft new followers from the Midwestern tribal populations that have agreed to protection in exchange for supplies and men. They're essentially like the Capital Wasteland Brotherhood, only fascist rather than benevolent.

If West coast and East coast BoS teamed up, NCR would win. They are still too few. But if they also teamed up with Midwestern BoS and Texas BoS....

but does have ample supplies and men.

That's their entire problem, why they are in retreat by New Vegas. They are vastly outclassed in numbers.

And an alliance between the East and West Coast Brotherhoods is very slim (the same with the Midwest aligning with either), they have vastly different views on how to relate with the outside world. But if it did happen, the Capital Wasteland Brotherhood is still at lower-than-normal strength because of the Outcasts. The Midwest have their own little empire, they don't have any reason to care what happens to the other ones, but as for numbers they lost a lot of people fighting the Calculator, which is confirmed in Fallout 3, so the main bulk of their force now may well be recruited, less disciplined, tribals.

Not all recriuts are less disciplined Paladin Kodiak was recruited and he ended up in Lyons Pride

The NCR may not have the technological edge of the BOS, but they definitely make up this deficiency through superior manpower and their ability to deploy a more diverse and efficient army. If we are to use the Fallout Tabletop Role Playing Game as a source document, it’s claimed that the NCR has both Armored Divisions, Mounted Divisions and that the NCR Rangers are roughly the size of a modern division.

Now when it comes to air power, I would suspect that both the NCR and the BOS would have spent significant resources researching and developing vertibird technology, though while the BOS would not doubt use their air assets more in an operational role, the NCR would more than likely use its air assets in the logistical support/close air support role, since the NCR operates more along the line of a traditional army.

Overall, though the BOS could stand their own ground against the NCR, it’s unlikely that they would be able to defeat them, and much like the events of Fallout 3: Van Buren, the BOS would eventually be defeated due to the NCR’s ability to absorb the losses inherent with a total war situation.
