I dont find Bosmer annoying little pip squeaks. I find them as little wood elves. Why would I want them to be like 'bad ass Nords' when thats not who they are? I want the males to be little hyperactive Robin Williams' and the females to be lanky Lauren Bacall wannabes, which is kind of what they've always been.

You like playing as Robin Williams? Interesting. If no, that's the point. It's time for a different race to be the joke. Or none at all?

Curiously, I always perceived one of my characters as an intelligent, agile and charming/sensual wood elven female. The fact that they're petitte is very good to me, unfortunately without those Beauty mods the poor face & body gen resulted in scarry would-be seductresses.

It wasn't just Bosmer that were annoying in Oblivion. Every elf race was played by the exact same voice actor, and every single one of them sounded like a flaming homosixual.

it's just that most of the extremely annoying characters as scripted tended to be of the Bosmer persuasion

Not only the ones you list from TES IV, but also there are legendary ones from TES III, worst of all being Fargoth and Gaenor.

Methredhel, Carwen, Mandil, all too light-fingered for their own good.

Those Mer thought themselves thorough going light-fingered cut-purses and scofflaws.
This one taught them otherwise. This one robbed them of everything possible.

It is. It's always been shown. Most archers in the games are Bosmer. What more do you want?

I disagree, as I cannot recall, by name or generic character class, any Bosmer archers in TES III. The only character class of archers I can recall from TES III were the Imperial Archers, and there were no Bosmers in that lot.

I think they should be changed up, but just so they are more than just visibly different. I personally thought Dunmer were the most annoying in Oblivion ("Come any closer and I'll turn your bones to ash. Back off."). Always reminded me of Reducto from Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. Funny how I loved one and hated the other.

Anyway, I agree with those saying the Bosmer need to be taken more seriously. I thought they were pretty cool pre-Morrowind.

Which male bosmer went against the grain? Obviously, it's easier to remember the annoying ones, but I can't think of a single male bosmer that wasn't lame.

Can't really remember any off the top of my head, but my point was that not all of them are overly annoying. Any badass Bosmer? I'm not sure about that :laugh:

The lookout for the Telvanni agents, near the ebony mine for an early MW Fighter's Guild quest, was a Bosmer archer.

Aside from that, the only "memorable" Bosmer I can recall were a couple of female ones in certain caves and Dunmer Fortresses wielding huge Warhammers, and Gaenor, who all seem totally uncharacteristic for Bosmer.....and the annoying ones.

Agreed, the Bosmer always seem to come of as comedic at best and weak and annoying at worst (especially in Oblivion). Im really hoping to see them redesigned.

I don't think only big/buff equals badass. I think a nimble sniper is badass, too. But like you said, they're comic relief. You say that's just the way they are according to lore, but others here disagree. I don't know who's right. I'm unfamiliar with lore outside TES3 and 4.

I agree that races in general shoudl be serious, with potential funny/annoying ppl within these races. Bretons and bosmer have alsways goten the poor nd of character design since morrowind i think. (daggerfall's were good)

bretons should be tall and lanky, graceful and eccentric.

Bosmer should be shorter than most, but nimble and stealthy.
