In all seriousness though, I'm sick of Bosmer being portrayed as the http://images.wikia.com/wowwiki/images/d/d9/GnomeMale.jpg of TES. Why can't they be bad ass like the Nords too? I mean, I don't see anything in their lore that says they must be annoying, little people. I don't understand the connection between Woodland Elves and "Annoying, just shut-the-hell-up" kind of Elves, the latter being prevalent in Oblivion.

Yes I know, Todd says that the Races in Skyrim will all look disctintively different from each other, but does that mean the Bosmer will still be annoying? Will they finally be the true bad-asses that they really are? Or do I still have to put up with their general annoying, little people demeanor? What's the direction Bethesda is taking with my favorite race of TES? Obviously, you don't have these answers, I'm just hoping the Bethesda doesn't make them as a joke anymore. :shakehead:

Exactly. The Bosmer we see in Morrowind, Cyrodiil, and Skyrim aren't quite the representatives of the Bosmer of Valenwood. Same as the Altmer, go to Summerset Isle and you'll be in for a surprise if you're expecting the same behavior as past games.

But yes, I love the Bosmer, and I think they were a little unfairly portrayed in vanilla Oblivion. I don't mind them being somewhat shorter than the other races, as being short doesn't make you wimpy and annoying (I would know, I'm very petite, but I've got a temper the size of a hurricane and the strength to match, if I so choose... ). But they should be given a fair portrayal as the awesome people that they are. Let the short little Bosmer show the world how tough they really can be! :toughninja:

YES PLEASE!!! I normally wouldn't play them, annoying or not, but I feel they have been unjustly portrayed in MW and OB. They should be more serius, IMO.

It's the same with all races. You get a stupid Orc, drunk barbaric Nords, ect, but you get all of the others that go completely against these stereotypes.

Bosmer should be suspicious, proud, and somewhat haughty folks with a sort of "don't mess with me and I won't mess with you" mentality, much like how they were portrayed in A Dance in Fire.

Not just them,Altmer needs a touch too I think.I've always took them for snobby annoying elves.I understand that they think high of themselves and fine with that,but there should be more to them.Same with Bosmer.

Races have their funny/annoying sides,like Nords getting robbed nake or Khajiits going kitty,but they have thier cool sides too,which is kinda lacking with Bosmer,Altmer and a little with Orcs too I think.

It wasn't just Bosmer that were annoying in Oblivion. Every elf race was played by the exact same voice actor, and every single one of them sounded like a flaming homosixual.

I dont find Bosmer annoying little pip squeaks. I find them as little wood elves. Why would I want them to be like 'bad ass Nords' when thats not who they are? I want the males to be little hyperactive Robin Williams' and the females to be lanky Lauren Bacall wannabes, which is kind of what they've always been.

I started playing elder scrolls in morrowind and as far as ive seen wood elves have never been bad ass. When was this, back in dagger fall?

I hate most of them because they're practicly clones and nasal. Cutter and the Adoring fan are great though.

Not so sure I'd agree with that; it's just that most of the extremely annoying characters as scripted tended to be of the Bosmer persuasion: Glarthir, Maglir, Thoronir, Adoringfanir (© someone else - I forget who, sorry), Gundalas: they were all just gits. The female of the species wasn't quite so irritating but did leave you feeling that not just the entire contents of your pockets had been stolen but the pockets too - and your trousers for that matter: Methredhel, Carwen, Mandil, all too light-fingered for their own good. Or rather my own good and peace of mind...

My frikin' Bosmer ranger will have to be reconsidered, making my entire character lore in the dumpster...

Actually I agree. I never really thought of it but they were pretty weenie. I have always seen them as elegant, athletic, able to kick your butt any time any day creatures throughout the course of their fantasy history (elves in general). It would be better if they made them more that way instead of a weak outfielder..

Annoying? I don't mind if that goes. But little? I like the short pudgy men and the somewhat normal cute women. I'd hate it if that went.
