[RELz] BOSS - Better Oblivion Sorting Software

I updated BOSS to 1.62 and it added many additional tags to Unofficial patches. Is it normal= I've started to see Unofficial Oblivion Patch in many new sections while rebuilding my Bashed Patch.

Yes it is normal. A fair amount of extra tags were created in recent additions of Wrye Bash, as well as added into the BOSS masterlist. That's all. :D
That is one serious list of tags for the Unofficials though isn't it? :lol:

that would be becuase you edited your post after I'd clicked multi-quote, and reply and copied the text of your message but before I did the additions and reply. (also one got added as .es instead of .esp... fixed and a few old ones like that as well)... the rest of em added as well, thanks.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28313 needs to be loaded after EVE_StockEquipmentReplacer.esp, EVE_StockEquipmentReplacer for OOO.esp, EVE_StockEquipmentReplacer4MMM.esp and EVE_StockEquipmentReplacer4FCOM.esp otherwise some of the meshes will be overriden.

Got an odd thing happening with 1.6.2. It is sorting my little tweaks plugin, but I've haven't created a user rule yet! My plugin is called MyTweaks.esp (original, I know) and BOSS is sorting it instead of reporting it as unrecognized. I searched the masterlist and there's nothing called My Tweaks in the list.

Edit: Created a user rule - it really does think MyTweaks.esp is in the masterlist, but if I do a search in the masterlist, it's not there... I'm searching the masterlist.txt file in Data\BOSS - there aren't any others are there? I am running TES4 manager, so I'll continue to search and see if something is up...

No, that's really weird. Are you sure you haven't got it in your userlist or BOMM rules if using BOMM? I can't replicate this.

I edited my post. I don't use BOMM and I just added a userlist.

Edit: I've hunted and the only masterlist I have is in Data\BOSS. Now as I said, I'm using TES4 Manager, so I have two other clones and one of those clones may still have the old masterlist from when I used to have to edit it myself - is it possible BOSS is finding one of those?

The clones are in completely separate directories in my Games folder, where Oblivion is installed. (So I have C:\Games\Oblivion for my current game, and C:\Games\Clone1 and C:\Games\Clone2 for the clones).

Very strange.

Open up a command line prompt and cd to your oblivion install's data directory, then run "BOSS -v2". This will print out a some stuff to your command line, try to go up to where it mentions the MyTweaks.esp file and let me know what it says regarding it.

EDIT: I don't think the clones should make a difference, unless you've got it in the masterlist in one of them, and are running BOSS from that same clone, BOSS just looks for directories relative to its location.

Edit: I'll look at this again later and see if something jumps out at me. It looks like it's running from the correct directory and the dates on the files indicate that it's updating the right stuff... Off to bed!

I have/had a similar issue as Andalaybay. I have an esp called MyCustomPatch01.esp with various tweaks and such. When I first started using the userlist, when it first was available, I noticed this same issue. I choose to add my patch to the userlist after the Bashed Patch. When I used the ADD command the command line box would say Updating blah blah, then next line would be "WARN, cannot add, This mod is already in the Masterlist." I searched the masterlist with no luck. The BOSS.log reports the same; ""MyCustomPatch01.esp" is already in the masterlist. Rule skipped." I simply changed the command to OVERRIDE and everything is all good. From then I just overlooked it but I guess I should have mentioned it. I'll mention now though since another user is experiencing the same issue with a slightly differently named ESP. The workaround is to use the OVERRIDE command. It is rather strange though.

Its very new too. I have not reported it earlier because BOSS seemed to recognise it.

Its not showing as un-recognised anyway, but the curious thing is if you do repeated BOSS runs on the same load order, the n_dywyll race esp changes position

First run it was positioned just above bashed patch, second run one place higher, third run another place higher.... Right now its sitting here...

Yep its still at 50 - thats because darknesshollows.esp is now recognised on this run and has been placed above. If I had not installed DarknessHollows then n_dywyll would be sitting at 4F.... Look at the above two spoilers and compare first run position in relation to vilja plugins will make it clearer what I mean.

Ref Shingouki's post above; It might also be worth noting Slofs Better Bodies also includes Slofs Better Beasts - So making the latter not required if Slofs Better Bodies is installed.

I had a look out of curiosity, but not using it.

@ Shingouki - You might want to edit and delete the link, against forum rules to link advlt content here (I have been guilty of the same on occasion :blush:)

If you need to report something like that, include the esp name, and just mention the title of the mod so it is searchable on tesnexus rather than direct linking, and mention advlt content as the reason for no linkage.

Hey all,

I've been having some crashes recently that I thought might be related to my LO and I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice in this situation. The long version of the problems I've been experiencing can be found http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1137100-needing-some-lo-advice/page__pid__16633211__st__0&#entry16633211 but I thought I'd give a bit shorter account because it is sort of became a mountain of text. ^_^

Basically, I need to find the right positions in my LO for Nekhanimals Awesome Vampire Mod and Return of Shadows Ch.1. I find that when I BOSS my load order through BOMM, Neks doesn't work properly on my vamp character but when I made it quite a bit lower I may have put it too low as now I'm crashing much more often when before I could go about 3 hrs at least without a crash.

The thing with RoS is that I find crashes began to happen a lot when traveling to Bruma w/o fast travel, so much that I had to coc into Bruma the first time. I was thinking it might be a LO issue like its conflicting with something and maybe I need to load it lower but idk.

If you can provide any advice on this subject, please do so when possible.

You know if you have created some kind of amazing AI, it needs some work - it's putting MyTweaks.esp in the wrong spot :)

Edit: I'll look at this again later and see if something jumps out at me. It looks like it's running from the correct directory and the dates on the files indicate that it's updating the right stuff... Off to bed!



I have/had a similar issue as Andalaybay. I have an esp called MyCustomPatch01.esp with various tweaks and such. When I first started using the userlist, when it first was available, I noticed this same issue. I choose to add my patch to the userlist after the Bashed Patch. When I used the ADD command the command line box would say Updating blah blah, then next line would be "WARN, cannot add, This mod is already in the Masterlist." I searched the masterlist with no luck. The BOSS.log reports the same; ""MyCustomPatch01.esp" is already in the masterlist. Rule skipped." I simply changed the command to OVERRIDE and everything is all good. From then I just overlooked it but I guess I should have mentioned it. I'll mention now though since another user is experiencing the same issue with a slightly differently named ESP. The workaround is to use the OVERRIDE command. It is rather strange though.

Its very new too. I have not reported it earlier because BOSS seemed to recognise it.

Its not showing as un-recognised anyway, but the curious thing is if you do repeated BOSS runs on the same load order, the n_dywyll race esp changes position

First run it was positioned just above bashed patch, second run one place higher, third run another place higher.... Right now its sitting here...

Yep its still at 50 - thats because darknesshollows.esp is now recognised on this run and has been placed above. If I had not installed DarknessHollows then n_dywyll would be sitting at 4F.... Its jumped two places this run - Nothing has been added to my load order during all three above runs. n_dywyll seems to be slowly wandering up the load order with each successive run.


Thanks for the reports. Could you all do as andalaybay has done and run "BOSS -v2" from a command line prompt, and post the output here? I suspect the issue has something to do with the changes I made relating to user rules for 1.62, so if you've got rules, could you also post your userlist?

EDIT: Oh, and andalaybay's post also shows that QuietFeet.esp is in the masterlist twice, once early with other such mods, and once late. Which should get removed?

Just a couple unknown files from the soon to be released The Arsenal v2 :D

Since it has not been released just yet, here is the LO info from the ReadMe.

Due to the placement of Woodling's shop there is a small patch needed when you play Oblivion with Arthmoor's Faregyl Village.

Along with the patch you will have to make sure Faregyl Village loads after The Arsenal to ensure they play nice, load the patch after both of those.
