hopefully soon, its been a five year gap since oblivion and this still has 8-9 months until this one is released.. loving the optimism

i've never been a huge fan of boss fights, although they would need something like it to do dragons justice

Sorry, very, very, very, very , very anti boss here.

I tactical challenge against a superior foe is one thing, bosses are just uggghhhh.
Bullet sponge health.
Abilities beyond what the player can use.
Hordes of back up swarming you unfairly.
Fight your way to the boss in a linear metheod.

Bosses imo show a lack of creativity, there to ramp up difficulty without actualy making the daily grind a challenge.

True, sorry if I came off as rude.
I just stated mine as neutrally as I could, though that's not much tbh as I'm biased towards the no side.

Hopefully Skyrim will have some proper "Boss" fights. Not just a standard enemy with increased health posing as a boss.

Hell, I want a boss at the end of a dungeon. It doesn't have to have amazing abilities, just put a different skin on it and make it 10 levels higher than the player.

Think of Big Daddies in Bioshock, something you have to actually prepare for and have strategies for.

i'm not really for or against bosses. I like the idea of the occasional big bad mother wanting to introduce his fist to my colon, but to have set bosses, boss fights, things like that, are just silly and stupid. Like Madocmayhem said in his post, they're just too unrealistic. Now, what I really hate, are finishing moves. If I just spent 5 minutes grinding down Timmy the Troll, i'm going to get upset if I wind up losing the fight just because I didn't hit the correct bloody button at the right bloody time.

that was I thinking! shadow of colossus was just an example, the dragon fights(and I hope other types of bosses will appear) should be epic,to use strategy not just mindless hit, potion, hit potion

dont get me wrong some boss fights can be enjoyable, i mean crash bandicoot bosses were great :D
whereas i prefer something like what Madocmayhem was suggesting, a supoerior opponent where you actually have to use your skill to think up something off of your own back, like as a mage finding a way to get into a position where you can cast a decent spell before being hit, or as a warrior look to see where his flaws are and exploit them to get in and slice off a limb or two..

Yeah when fighting a Mammoth/Giant/Dragon there should be a greater physicality than just a collision box. You should have to dart in and cut tendons to collapse the beats and then finish off them off when they're crippled but still aggressive.

Well Shadow of the Colossus had great boss fights but Legend of Zelda games take the cake on best boss fights imo. God of War is up there too.

Edit: Oh yeah, Kingdom Hearts II had epic boss fights too, especially Sephiroth.
