BOSS Master List Manager

Is there some way that BOMM could detect and show when I mod that we have added a definition for has been added to the masterlist. I could not tell whether or not an "unrecognized" mod is still unrecognized.

Yes, it certainly can and does so already. When an unknown mod is defined, BOMM tells you and asks if you want to remove your entry from BOMM.

BOSS Master List Manager v4.2 Released

The primary purpose of this release is to provide tested compatibility with Word 2003 (and possibly with earlier versions of Word) - please note that the extension name of the BOMM has changed from "docm" to "doc" - you need to amend BOMM shortcuts to reflect this change.

    New Functions
  • Unknown Sensual Walks mod entries that are automatically added now include the default Bash Tag suggestions
  • Added the Hide and AutoRun options so you can change BOMM's default behaviour

    Processing Changes
  • Support added for Word 2003
  • BOMM document file extension changed from "docm" to "doc"
  • BOMM now hides Word while it is processing to improve performance and screen behaviour

    Fixes
  • Symbol code characters introduced with BOSS version 1.5 have been included in BOMM's configuration table
  • Miscellaneous corrections for some obscure problems (can't remember the details)

    Documentation Changes
  • Added "Installation for Word 2003"
  • Added "BOSS Master List Manager Options" which describes the new Hide and AutoRun options
  • Updated "Known Problems and Issues" with additional information

BOSS Master List Manager Configuration Recommendation

The latest BOSS Master List contains two new Leading symbol codes. You should add the double quotes (") and circumflex (^) characters to the Symbol Codes in the BOMM Configuration Table.

Afraid not, the latest master list documented these additional codes - they weren't there when I released the update :( Hence, the recommendation.

Hi There, and many thanks for the Tool, il really looks amazing...

Problem is, I tried it today and now my game has some serious problems! I'm not saying it's your tool's fault, ir's probably mine :) I'm her just to ask some suggestion, if someone would be so kind...

So, first of all, my problem started after using the manager to update my master list, I suppose it also added some bash tags tp my mods, because when I went back and rebuilt my bashed patch I noticed a lot of new mods had import options, I happily clicked them all (Bad move...)
Now my games loads normally to main menu, but if I try to load my savedgames it hangs near the end and I must restart my pc, I also tried a new game, I use Alternative Start, I was able to appear in the boat for the character creation, but as soon as I tried entering the worldspace, It hanged forever on loading.

Now, After many (many) hours of testing I bellieve that it has been caused by some tags added to my BP... I'm currently trying disabling them one by one to see if something changes, but in the meantime:

That post does not belong here. Please start your own thread, and use "spoiler" tags on long lists. Plus that load order is not complete. I do not see the bashed patch. Do not post your BOSS Log when you make your separate thread. It is not necessary. It just takes up space. I will not look at it until it is in a separate thread, but I have suggestions for the bashed patch and the crash. I will link them in your thread.

Edit: I have a couple of issues with the current formatting using word because the " ' " and " - " typed in Word do not match the text file versions. BOMM and BOSS are sensitive to that. Because I have defined definitions using the "different" single quote and hyphens, BOMM will not be able to detect whether or not hose plugins have been defined in the original masterlist file.

I have a couple of issues with the current formatting using word because the " ' " and " - " typed in Word do not match the text file versions. BOMM and BOSS are sensitive to that. Because I have defined definitions using the "different" single quote and hyphens, BOMM will not be able to detect whether or not hose plugins have been defined in the original masterlist file.

I get over this problem by using cut & paste for the ESP names - this ensures accuracy as well as preventing Word changing quote characters to apostrophes or using the long hyphen instead of the standard one. You can also move the cursor back to the character that Word has changed and you should get a dropdown option that allows you to undo Word's automatic character substitution (you can also turn it off completely if you want).

mmmm - might be worth seeing if I can make BOMM turn automatic character substitution off while its open and then restore it when you close the document.

Be interested to know whether this is something other people would like to have as well - comments anyone?

I have just finished testing a version that changes any smart quotes and hyphens to normal ones before BOMM starts processing - this means you can keep the autocorrect as you type on and leave it to BOMM to get rid of the characters.

Included the additional symbol codes in this release and added two new buttons that display the updated master list and the original master list in Notepad - I found this useful when you want to see whether a master list update includes something you are overriding. So the new version save an unchanged copy of the master list to BOSS masterlist.txt for reference and checking.

If you have any other requests, now is a good time because I hope to release the new version over the weekend.

BOSS Master List Manager v4.3 Released

This is a refinement release based on my own usage and some Word related issues experienced by some people...

    New Functions
  • Added the "Undo AutoType" option. This changes Word's automatic smart quotes and hyphens to normal quotes and hyphens before BOMM processes your parameters.
  • Added "View ML" button. When you click this, it opens your active Master List in Notepad
  • Added "View SVN ML" button. When you click this, it opens the Master List downloaded from Google in Notepad.
  • Unknown Sensual Walks mod entries that are automatically added now include the new Deactivate Bash Tag

    Processing Changes
  • BOMM now saves the downloaded Master List in your Oblivion Data folder. The file is called "BOSS masterlist.txt" and is intended to let you see what the master list looked like before BOMM applied your changes. The "View SVN ML" button provides easy access to this additional file.

    Fixes
  • Symbol code characters introduced with BOSS version 1.51 have been included in BOMM's configuration table

    Documentation Changes
  • Included "Undo AutoType" option description under the "BOSS Master List Manager Options" section

BOSS Master List Manager v4.4 Released

I am about to upgrade to Word 2010, so I thought I would do a final release to avoid making changes under Word 2010...

    New Features
  • Added the "LogFile" option. This specifies the BOSS Log file name and extension. I included this in case BOSS introduces the colour coding that was discussed on the BOSS thread, which will, at the very minimum, result in a change to the file extension.
  • You are given the option of using the local copy of the original BOSS Master List so that BOMM can be used when there is a problem with the Google Service or you do not have access to the Internet.

    Processing Changes
  • Added BSA as a valid file type in case this becomes a BOSS feature.
  • URL validation changed to avoid ambiguity between an invalid URL and Google Service problems

    Fixes
  • Removed the inclusion of the Deactivate Bash Tag from unknown Sensual Walks mods as per Wrye Bash recommended Deactivate tag usage.
  • The ESP and ESM file type checking only allowed lower case characters - this has been corrected so that the case does not matter.

BOSS Master List Manager v4.5 Released

I had not planned on doing any more releases, but I wrote something that reads the BOSS Log File and creates a very short report of mods that have notes (Bash Tags are ignored). I found the report quite useful so I thought I would share this addition.

    New Features
  • Added the "View Notes" button. When you click this button, BOMM reads the BOSS Log File and produces a report containing only the mods that have notes (ignores Bash Tag suggestions).

  • None.

    Documentation Changes
  • Added "BOSS Master List Manager Buttons" section that explains the functions of the buttons at the top of the BOMM document.

You reminded me of a question. I know nothing about Word, and I usually open the BMLM by double-clicking the .doc file. This results in the updater running automatically.

I'd like it to wait till I push the "Run BOMM" button before doing it's stuff in case I want to make any changes. Is it how I'm opening the file that causes that, or is there something I can change to stop it running automatically?

Take a look at the documentation (BOSS Master List Manager Options) - it explains how to change it to what you want it to do,

The clue is "The ReadMe is on the next page and includes installation and configuration information" which follows your overrides and undefined definitions :)
