Boston Marathon bomber part 2

Post » Sat May 17, 2014 8:37 pm

We haven't seen one image of them dropping off the bombs yet. Until that footage comes out, nobody should be entirely convinced.

They threw a pressure cooker bomb at police and also murdered a police officer.

They threw bombs at the police, I don't think they've been specified which kind. They certainly killed the police officer. Still, without the video of them dropping off a bomb, everything is circumstantial related to the Boston marathon bombings.

The report I've read stated that it was a pressure cooker bomb, which is why it didn't cause any fatalities as the lid fell off when it was thrown stopping the explosion from being as volatile. They also found a large amount of prepared explosives in the suspects apartment. (last heard it here: http://boston.cbslocal.com/live-video/)

Well, according to NPR, they had video footage of them depositing the dufflebags in the locations where the bombs went off. Meaning they dropped the bag, walked off, then BOOM. Then they tried to rob a convenience store, then they shot at police and used more bombs...like I say, pretty damning.

I can't find a link but I heard the interview on the radio. The aunt of the bombers , she lives in Toronto, Canada, is claiming that the Boston explosions were staged to frame her nephews ....... K

I definitely agree in my eyes they did it, was just pointing out it isn't with 100% certainty.

Press now saying that wasn't them. That one photo is from a gas station they stopped at before the carjacking. https://twitter.com/karenreports/status/325340619667034112

....which is why, as helpful as social media can sometimes be, I still think people take it too far. Someone sitting at their desk in Texas is not a reporter on the scene in Boston. And even the reporters don't always get it right at first. People need to be more cautious about instantly sending out stuff they hear/see as "facts."

(edit) I'd heard the story robbery thing too, btw....just saying the word "allegedly" or "supposedly" or "rumor has it" can be a useful thing. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

I wonder if the report I heard is true which said that the vehicle they carjacked had a COEXIST bumper sticker on it.. useless information I know but how ironic, if it is true...

If I'm not mistaken, CNN has been reporting that they robbed a 7-11 as well.

The man who saw them put the bag down fingered them. Based on the reaction of the suspects, I think this eye witness got it right. The FBI also has footage that they did not release that shows this.

Everyone assumes it's 'allegedly' when listening to any news source nowadays. Just relay info and leave the PC [censored] behind. I like NPR but they were quite frankly ridiculous today, tossing out disclaimers every five minutes.

The sarcasm was a bit too weak, it might as well have just been written as a normal article.

Every media source has been doing this after the Boston Bombing. It's a race to report first, not accurately..... of course. It's all about the ratings, man!!

Nah, there was no video/photographic evidence presented yet that showed them depositing the bombs. They just waaaaaaaaay over-reacted to getting pulled over for having a taillight out.

I don't know if "everyone" assumes that, especially based on the anger reactions people end up with. I get your point, and too much PC can definitely get ridiculous, but sometimes people get hurt when other people believe early reporting/allegations. There is no harm in trying to at least minimize the rumor-mongering in this age of instant-info social media.

Its not just about rumours versus truth, its also about due process.

It's for legal reasons. Aver something as fact when it's not, and you open yourself to a lawsuit. NPR has better things to spend taxpayers' money on.

This and the fact they are lifting the lockdown, seems they think he might have evaded 9000 police.

One uncle is totally pissed off at his nephews, so not all of the family is with the boys.

At least he seemed angry at them.
