The older brother made a trip to Moscow and probably went to Chechnya and got military training with some splinter group. I think the younger brother was mostly tagging along. The older brother sounds like a radical nut. This is just my guess based on what they found so far. I just can't imagine homegrown american kids figured out how to master IEDs. Remember that they have many, and used them effectively - it wasn't a "good how to make bombs" ordeal. Somebody had to have hands on learning.

Yea, i'm taking Fox News with a grain of salt over this because they seem to be fear mongering at times. Hope they catch the guy, but the more this standoff goes on, the less likely it will happen imho.

Honestly, the more we learn, the more it seems to be that the older brother used the younger one to make the bombs, and then dragged him along to plant them. everyone that was asked said that he was a good kid, the older one on the other hand...

I've been watching MSNBC because I can't stand FoxNews and CNN's coverage was annoying me.

And yea....it's finally over. I personally hope he lives so they can get more information, if possible, if there is any.

Has that been confirmed? Last I heard, all that was known was that he went to Russia for 6 months last January (2012).

EDIT: I don't wanna pick on any one news outlet, but it seems that Fox is determined that he did indeed get outside training while in Russia, and while it seems that, due to the amount of explosives they made plus the fact they were at least semi-proficient in weapons training (no small feat to survive a shootout with cops armed with automatic weapons from what I've heard), they must have had some training, it just seems that Fox wants to connect the old enemies with these two men.

Honestly, I just hope he'll say why. He seems to have been a good kid and decent student and loved being in the US. I don't want him to die, death won't resolve this, but nor will being put in prison. I hope he'll say why and people will shut up. It disgusts me to see so many people I share this country with are screaming for his head on a pike. What is WITH people thinking 'Muslim terrorist! Put him to death!'. Has reason forsaken this nation in the past years? :/
