Boston Metro System

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 10:52 pm

oh, except for Beth's 'hurr hurr patch' when fans were crying for 'MOAR CHALLENGE' so in some metros, what you'll find is 2-3 Ghoul reavers that somehow have more resilience than a Sherman Tank. GG

instead of setting things off balance by waiting later to moderate the in certain areas of the game with dlc. They should already be doing it for the game itself.

"Hey, I've got a nifty idea! What if we included different versions of some of the enemies, made them do more damage than their peers, and also just gave them a frankly irresponsible amount of health so that encountering them would mean you were going to be in a fight against one enemy for the next 20 minutes, not because the fight is considerably harder, but because it suddenly becomes a war of attrition!" -Unknown Dev.

If the real city of Boston has a metro system, then, of course, it should be in the game. What else? Doesn't make sense otherwise.

I'd like to see the metros return, were lots of fun fighting and scavenging in them in FO3 and if you didn't use fast travel you quickly learned the pathways and best routes to take to get you where you wanted to go. And I don't think I was lost in them much past my first time down there, mostly they were well marked and you always had your pipboy map to point out where you've been or hadn't explored yet.

The lack of respawning for those areas in the base game was a bad idea however, mods that fixed that aspect were required as just making them travel locations with no NPCs or enemies was not fun at all. Add in something like the BoS Patrol mod and you had constant chaos while just travelling in the tunnels - great fun.

In a lot of places that is true. but if that is ALL you saw down there, you missed some tunnels.

There is also the Big Dig where they buried the Interstate under the city. Admittedly this happened after the split in the timeline, but I can see it happening in both worlds. The Interstate running through the city create a traffic nightmare and any city planner would have entertained the thought of doing this.

However, I can just about make a sure bet we are going to have Subway Tunnels in the game. They are part and parcel of any large metro area. And, Ghouls need a place to live.

First my city has a "beautification" project to increase the tourist trade, so they filled in all the subways. Then the damned bleeding hearts show up whimpering about the feral ghouls' natural habitat, so they build a preserve right next to my favorite bar. Do any of you have an idea what it is like for a man to get a drink around here, now? LEAVE THE METRO ALONE! HELL, EXPANDED IT!

I don't really know about that Metros seem a bit old maybe a monorail would be better but a Metro system seems to be a bad idea the surface needs a lot of detail over the metro plus you have to add new NPC's textures and extra notes to add lore.

The giant ant queen was the only thing fairly (barely) challenging in the metro.

I know that there were also glowing ones in an area where the metro tunnel hat a hole which connected to a cave.

Ants.... Not real challenging

Reavers and multi overlords set things off balance but were still a nice concept for making trivial enemies more challenging.

Looking at the trailer its obvious they have some technology working, so why not part of the metro system?

I always liked the idea of a train in FO. An underground train still fits that criteria.
But, one has to wonder how functional (if the goal is to take you any reasonable distance) a line might be, since there are most likely areas that have collapsed and possibly flooded.

Americas first metro system was in Boston. I would be surprised if we saw nothing.

The diffrence is that you can get a fatman on a low level in F3.

And vengeance is pretty hard to get :)

Precisely. Maybe use it as a fast travel option similar to The Duchess Gambit just with more than one destination.

I suppose there will be raider gangs and territories in the metro. And maybe one for BoS.

The metro should have some working system. There should be special underground locations reachable via metro through the metro train.
