Bottom half of screen darker than top

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 11:59 pm

I am having an annoying problem with Fallout 4. Most of the time the bottom half of the screen is rendered quite a bit darker than the top half. Whenever this happens, usually moving my viewing angle up or down a few degrees will fix it, but then I'll need the character to hold that view angle - which doesn't work obviously.

I'd attach a screenshot of what I am talking about, but I can't figure out how to add attachments or post links, so...

My configuration:
Windows 10, Intel 4790k, 32 GB RAM, GeForce Titan-Z with latest driver (358.91)

Enabling/disabling/forcing/unforcing multi-GPU mode (SLI) doesn't make a difference.

Nothing is overclocked or modified, it's all stock.

I run 4k resolution with every option set to the highest possible.

Suggestions to fix this?

I'm playing in 3840x2160 on a Dell UP2414Q monitor a GeForce GTX 780, and I get this glitch often when I am indoors. It's still playable, but annoying. The top half of the screen is bright and looks fine, but the bottom half is dark and harder to see. I noticed this even before the bombs fell, when I went into the living room. I just updated to the latest nVidia drivers this morning, and it didn't fix the problem. From what people at GameFAQs are saying, it looks like this happens when you play the game at 4K. I hope they fix this soon.

Thank you, it's good to see it's not just me.

I'm also having this issue, very annoying. It seems to be something with the shadow settings or something. At night when I look at lit areas, the top part of my screen looks good, but the bottom is like the dynamic light isn't being taken into account. I'm using an ultra wide monitor @ 3440x1440. Wish the game supported this resolution natively, as I have a lot of screen squishing for snipers, and the power armor.

I have the same issue,
This appears to be the main thread for it however - http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1544670-either-4k-resolution-or-gtx-780-ti-issue/?p=24482572
