Bought Skyrim LE - do I need to worry about NPC's dieing?

Post » Mon Dec 30, 2013 8:44 am

Hi.

I bought Skyrim Legendary Edition on Steam and I'll be playing this game for the first time in a year or so, last time I never got past a 30 hour save (not because I didn't like it, other reasons).

Basically I'm worried about dragons and vampires killing NPC's in my game - how likely is it that NPC's will die etc? I'll be playing on expert difficulty with no fast traveling.

Thanks.

Ah, well since you'll be FT'ing, you'll hardly need to worry.

I would still avoid entering cities at night though.

There's a mod called "Run for your lives" I think. I hear its useful.

If you are playing on a PC (instead of console) there are a couple of good NPC mods that help with this. Like Shadow_Titan mentioned, "Run For Your Lives" helps as does "When Vampires Attack."

Also, if you Fast Travel into a city/hold, you will sometimes spawn Vampires (at night) and Dragons.

Just don't enter the cities at night and you should be okay. I pretty much stayed and did all my trading at the Dawnguard encampment until I finished the quest line.

I haven't noticed dragons being a big problem but then I don't fast travel either.

You should be ok with no FT, always a good idea to save before you enter a city though just in case.
