Bought the Game

Hey guys, been a loyal Fallout fan for quite some time. I was just curious, could you list some major differences and similarities between the two for me? I'm going into this game completely blind with no idea other than 12 seconds of a video.

Thanks everyone

I guessing you want comparrsion from FO3 and NV:

1) This is not fallout with swords
2) no vats
3) Much bigger
4) there are things called guilds some you need to get your rights to get into them
5) from the start you can do what ever you want
6) Skills are very important if you pick blade and use bows you wont lvl up you can only lvl up by lvling up your major skills

That may of sounded like im trolling fallout 3 and new vegas but i love them both

hmm, comparing them, i assume fallout 3, id say ob is greener, and prettier. No real companions, and theres magick. You pick a race to play as, and you pick skills in your class. To level up you "practice your skills" ex killing things with a sword raises blade. You don't want to level too fast, the world is scaled, and after a point everything becomes annoyingly powerful.

I'd just make a character to find out what you like, magick, stealth, swords.

To really know i would just start playing the game, just post if you don't understand something. Also the main quest isn't as urgent as they make it out to be, you can put it off if you want to explore

Thanks bro I appreciate the reply! Yeah, Fallout has it's ups and downs but NV is my favorite game, 3 is my second favorite. Can you actually LEGITLY join these guilds? Or is it like Fallout where you just kinda pick an ending?

10 races to choose from, each with their own stats. magic, combat, stealth focus, or combine these how you like.
I played it for around 1200 hours (between various characters).
If you are on the PC, there are lots of nice mods (some you might want to "fix" something you don't like about the game)

$20 for the goty edition, so it comes with expansions and stuff.

Not yet, I'm on spring break and I'm heading to bed and starting fresh early tomorrow so I don't throw off my whole sleeping schedule. If I hit it now I'll be on till 3. High school already fries your brain, without sleep I'd be half [censored] by now haha xD

Don't be afraid to ask question here on the forums unlike most forums we don't have trolls due to the fact that trolls pray on new games this game is an old classic

To be honest I wouldn't use these three as majors or any of the same three from the seven main http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Attributes
