Bound Items

Alrighty, so it's been quite some time since I last played the wonderful game of Morrowind, and I'm still trying to see how many little tricks I can remember. However I can't seem to remember the nifty stunt that lets you "keep" bound items - all I remember is that there wasn't much to it. So what again was the trick, and just how permanent does the item become (does it have to remain equipped, can it be set down, can it be switched back and forth with other items, etc.)?
Much appreciated!

You don't want to keep bound items, because they'll never leave your inventory. They're weightless, sure, but they clutter up your menu. Pretty sure they cause other bugs too.

But if you insist, you need to make an enchanted item with Constant Effect Bound Longsword, Axe, Mace, whatever then just switch between that and another weapon a bunch of times.

IIRC, you just need to repair it; it's been a long time...

I could understand not wanting to clutter up my inventory...I guess it would be more practical to put a CE enchantment on a light-weight item. Thank you both for the help, though!
