Bound weapons advantages?

Are the only good things about bound weapons that they are weightless and improve conjuration skill? You can't poison them.

With perks they also automatically soul trap enemies, turn undead, and banish summoned creatures

I'm pretty sure that with the Bound Weapon Damage perk and a couple perks in 1H damage the Bound Sword will have the highest damage possible for the first bunch of levels if you aren't using Smithing.

It is a Deadric Sword so it will have the best base damage than anything you could find.

Downside. You can't improve them to Legendary.

They're the best for leveling when you don't have access to the "end game" things like Daedric and such.

You can apply poison to bound weapons. If the spell runs out it is no longer poisoned when you recast.

For much of the game they are very powerful particularly with perks invested in them. The only complaint I have is that there are only 3 types, but expect that will change with the CK.

Not to belabor the obvious, but if you get disarmed (in combat, or as part of a quest where you can't have normal equipment) you can just cast a spell and have as good a weapon as ever.

So the poison lasts more than one arrow?

ive always wondered which 1hand perks work for it. I believe the one where it increases 1 hand weapons by 20/40/60/etc but what about the dual weapon or the savage strike? does anyoen knwo if those will work for it..i dunno bout savage strike seeing how the bound weapons have thier own killcam moves but wondering about the dual perk though.

With one perk, they become the best weapons for (base) damage output. Add in the perks to banish summons, soul trap and turn undead (plus you cant still apply posion). See?

No it is still only applied to an arrow at af a time. It is kind of misleading for it to say "do you want to poison bow" when your really applying it to one arrow,

There's a copy of the spell tome in Fort Amol Prison, under a lantern inside a bucket. Court mages will have the tome for sale once you've leveled up Conjuration to 50, I think (my conjuration is in the low 40's on my mage character and I haven't seen it for sale yet).

That's one of the spells my mage is trying hard to get. She'll use it as her primary soul trap weapon.

I bought it at the college the first time. Found it the second time only really used it on the second character. Only problem I have is I never want to lose it so I keep trying to shoot with it on what is mostly a melee build.

Bound weapons are usually faster than their normal counterparts, and usually require much less stamina to use.
