Bounties

I've started a third character, and added him to my Oblivion crew.
He is a Bosmer Assassin. Level 4 currently.
It is quite enjoyable, to switch between this character, my do-good knight and my scholarly mage. I am especially enjoying the reaction my character receives in various establishments. It's never the usual "Well met!" like on my good characters. Everyone is so.... crabby. I increase and decrease various faction reactions to me by drawing my weapon when speaking to specific factions.

My character, just assassinated three targets. One of them was David Surille, if you get my meaning. It was very enjoyable to follow the targets for several days, to learn their movements, then to pick the right moment to strike. After each murder, my character traveled to Dareloth Garden, you know, to lie low for a bit.

So anyway, bounties. All three targets were felled by bow shots. Othello did not receive a bounty for the first kill.... and then a 40 gold bounty for each of the last two kills.

So maybe the first was a glitch, but only 40 gold each? Now I do know, that when you overhear the guards, they generally speak of earning only one septim per day. So a citizen's life is only worth forty days of labor in the land. Kinda harsh if you ask me.

I thought murder was a 1000 gold bounty. And I thought each murder was one point of infamy. Is that right?

It's interesting you should mention the value of things in Cyrodil. If a guard only gets 1 septim a day, all he could buy is an apple or a carrot. Surely that's not fair. It's no wonder they become corrupted. Going out and killing a wolf would be the same as ten day's pay for this poor svcker. Are they that stupid? They definitely need a union.
