Bounty Hunters and Assassins

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 6:11 am

I dont no if you guys have played Red Dead Redemption ,but in that game you could find wanted posters at sheriff offfices and on posts in town. I was thinking that they should include this in Skyrim. Like you could find bounty posters and you could do the mission and use clues to hunt down the person that is wanted. Also if you do something bad to someone, they could put a bounty on you. And without knowing it you would all of a sudden be attacked and it would be an assassin or a bounty hunter. This would add a good felling to the environment and feel like it was real. Also NPC's could put bounties on eachother, and you could actually see like a person get grabbed and like knocked out, Tell me what you guys think about this. If Bethesda did a good job on this system, would you want it included?

Sounds interesting, I think my emphasis is on the "if Bethesda did a good job on this system", but yes to it as a concept, I like it.

It would add a dimension to the games of both law-abiding and law-breaking characters.

Never played Red Dead, but personally I would love to see a bounty hunter system set up in Skyrim. Fun, fun!

I was thinking of something similar! hows about having bounty hunters being sent after YOU after you resist arrest and escape a town?

Its almost basically like a faction you could join. I would like it that way. You would have go to the local castle to register as a warrant officer and you would get contracts from the authorities to bring in criminals all around skyrim. You could raise in rank by completing contracts and the higher rank the harder and more lucrative the reward.

Do bad and get bounty hunters after you. Do good and get assassins after you. Oh wait...sounds a lot like Fallout 3. Could still work though. I always saw a lot of the next TES game in Fallout 3 anyway.

As long as it's not exactly like RDR, because as soon as you killed or captured the bounty, they'd send an infinite # of gang members after you until you reached town. I hated that. When you kill the whole gang, that should be the end of it as far as I'm concerned. That's pretty much the way it went with all the random events in that game. Didn't like it.

One of the benefits of being evil in fallout 3 is all the guys who give you regulators dusters.
Do not see the good / evil part in Fallout 3 as fitting here, however if you had a high enough bounty the guards might start to hunt you. Same if you cross someone powerful you might get the dark brotherhood after you, not good just an archenemy of some faction

I think bounty hunting would go well with the Radiant Story system. And people should hunt you if you get a big enough bounty. It just makes sense.

Radiant AI should send bounty hunters after you if you have a high infamy/bounty, and send you bounties to hunt for if you have a high fame.

Or hell, the other way around even. You can hunt do-gooders if you're a bad guy.

Yes seems like a very good idea hunting down baddies.
