When comparing bows, I use the damage number I assume, correct?

Well, what about the arrows? Do I just assume you add the arrow damage number to the bow arrow number to figure out the amount of damage I will do

Also, how do you know what arrows will be used? I have some bow I found in a mine that isn't steel or iron and curious what arrows it will use

I recently found a guy selling an orcish bow and was wondering if I have to find orc arrows.

I think damage calculation per shot (arrow) is Bow's base damage (skills, enchants, etc included - you can see this number on the weapon itself when you hover over it) + Arrow's damage. Bows can use any arrow type, so for example you can use Orcish Bow and Steel Arrows.

Any bow can equip any arrow. Elven bow with orc arrows, Dwarven bow with steel etc, etc. I run around with Iron arrows mainly because I've got over 300 of them and don't need to worry about missing a few shots or not getting a few back. For tougher enemies I usually equip some Elven arrows but other then that just use what you want.

As far as the damage goes, not too sure. But it would make most sense to take Bow damage + Arrow damage = actual damage. Could be some complex algorithm though lol.

How do know which arrow it uses if there is more than one type of arrow in inventory?

You choose the arrows buy clicking those you want in the inventory. Also, the information about arrows used appears in the bottom left corner (not always, but I suppose that it appears when you shoot).

No bows have to use one type of arrow. ANY bow can use ANY arrow, no matter how many different arrow types you have. Equip your bow, and choose which arrow you want to use and thats it.

xbox - click A on the arrow you want to use in the quick-select (favourites) menu

When you draw the bow it shows you the arrow type in lower right corner.
