What are some of the best enchantments (for a bow) to use for high difficulty players?

I always just like putting elemental damage enchants on them. Or life steal perhaps. If you can find a paralyzing enchant, that's good too.

May i direct you this way:
http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1312501-the-way-of-the-artificer/

Destruction:
If you have augmented [element] (or better still, two seperate augmented element), perks in the destruction tree, dual enchanting 2 elemental damage bonuses will deal insane damage (like 170 elemental damage). Popping a destruction potion can potentially increase that to around 400 damage a hit.

Alteration:
if you have the stability perk under alteration, using a Paralyse/Fire, or Paralyse/Shock enchantment (With paralyse jacked up high enough that the weapon has a green glow) has an intresting trait - the fire/shock damage turns into a DoT effect, which'll deal around 100-110 damage over 2 seconds (stackable) if you have the appropriate augmented element perk. Popping an alteration potion will extend the dot to 5 or 6 seconds.

If you don't have any kind of magical training, then it's pretty much up to you what you use as there is no synergies of note to exploit...

Enjoy your 25 fire damage muggle xD

i have found bows that absorb magica or stamina and that deal added fire or frost damage.

unless you are well developed in enchantment the found bows are usually stronger than the ones you can enchant.

I generally use enchantments of Drain Health. I makes my one-shot Sneak attacks much more deadly, and I get a nice "return" out of it. If I were to place an Elemental enchantment on it, I'd have to go with Lightning/Electricity.

You find creatures all over Skyrim that have Frost and/or Fire Resistances, but the ones that are Lightning/Electricity Resistant are very few and far between. Rare enough to the point that I haven't run across one yet while exploring/dungeon crawling. Plus it comes in very handy should you run across the random Mage that you weren't expecting.

This is generally the rule I follow for my Assassin's when I actually have them bother with enchanting.

Daedric bow smithed up to around 150 dam. Double enchanted with fiery soul & 40 points fire damage. Armor is buffed with archery enchants. Ring, amulet, and Krosis mask. Kill everything in one shot except the ancient dragons. Need to shoot them twice LOL.

You could try using some of the various poisons on your bow to see how you like the effect.

Frost is said to have 50% slow for 2 seconds making it best if you boosted your bow damage with smithing so the enchant damage is comparable low.

If you have invested in some magic perks this changes totally as Ryuujin says, this is something I will look into on my next character, changes from Oblivion to Skyrim is probably larger than from Oblivion to Morrowind, having magic perks work on enchants changes everything with enchanting, it might be that an all-round character with lots of perks spread around is actually the strongest one because of this effect.

Without power gaming smithing/enchanting I would say 1 second Paralyze or 1 second fiery soul trap. With power gaming? It doesn't matter your bow does a million damage anyway.

Dont under estimate the power of 1 second paralyze as it makes them fall down, and they have to go through the getting up animation which takes probably 3-5 seconds. If you have stagger you might only want fiery soul trap 1 second. The soul trap effect is 1 second while the fire damage is always 10 unless you are perked up with enchanting/destruction.

What are some of the best enchantments (for a bow) to use for high difficulty players?
all around damage the best is prob fire, but i like frost damage mostly...electrical damage helps deplete magic power, and frost magic is pretty good cause it depletes stamina and with little stamina enemies don't last long...it depends on the enemy..i usually carry a few enchanted bows...one has full frost effect and full fire effect for max damage, its a ebony bow and it will kill most things in one shot easily, with more to spare...its my strongest weapon...i also have a bow with max stamina damage and max frost damage, its an imperial bow and it will kill most things in one shot also. except for super tough enemies. for my followers, i give em a ebony bow with a single fire damage enchant.
