Bow sights & FAQ

Post » Wed Jun 12, 2013 8:47 am

Hi, I'm new.
Are there any plans for extra sights for the compound bow?

- Pins sights;
- Laser dot;
- Draw the bow vertical (the user's choice whether or not he or she can live with a view obstruction on-screen);
-...or perhaps I'd even go as far as to say an assault scope of some sort.

What about "Barrel/Underbarrel" attachment slots?
I'm sure we could think of several, right?

At the very least we should be able to change the cross hairs.
The standard cross hairs are atrocious in the opinion of many and get lost easily with the high contrast style/ weapon mechanics in the game.

Ok, then is there perhaps anyone that could please point me in the direction of a good guide to using the bow?
ie:
- Which modules benefit the use of the bow?
- How to lead a moving target?
- Does the arrow fly like a railgun seen in other FPS'?
- Or is there drop/distance?
- How long do you have to draw before the shot in lethal?
- Is there aim assist? (PC)
Etc.

Alright, thanks in advance.

PS
Excluding the various bugs, a lot of things in Crysis 3 feel unfinished. So we await the coming patches.
I would just like to know why the bow was left so untouched.
It is undoubtedly a very popular weapon...well? Let us then customize it further, within bounds that won't elicit a resounding cry for the nerf stick.
A different cross hair, please. And some weapon stats (full) information section would be appreciated, form any source. Thank you.

The bows lazer pointa ran outta battery
It should just directly take from the Nanosuit 3.0's unlimited power mode energy that Crytek decoupled

Nope still needs AA batteries if you played the single player. Its hard to win the game without using the spare AA batteries.

Firstly ignore all negative comments about the bow. Because of small minority that brought to light a minor defect in the bow (auto aim/aim enhance), which in my experience is all just rubbish in the real world, and I have loads of evidence to prove it in an upcoming "Bow myths busted" post I am working on, now much of the community has been brain washed into thinking the bow is over powered. This is all total nonsense.

Ok that said... If you are in the very lower levels now, run Auto Armour+Phantom+Scout, then as you move up, run Low Profile+Hunter+Auto Armour, then Low Profile+Hunter+Retriever, and the ultimately Low Profile+ Retriever+ Manoeuvrability <
Bow facts: OHK (One hit Kill) on no armour and headshots, and 2HK on auto armour and normal armour. However.. ping plays a big roll and can sometimes be 2-4 hits to make a kill. Players with AA (auto armour) you need to get the second shot in fairly quickly before their health regenerates, you need 1/2 to 3/4 draw min on moving targets, but go for full draw on second shot on stationary targets to be 100% sure.

Tips for using the bow: Remember its a "sniper" weapon, not really for cqc (close quarter combat) You will see guys using it in cqc, jump firing, but I don't recommend that until you are more familiar with how the bow behaves. Go high as you can on the map, preferably in a position where you can most of the map, or at least a part of it. And just practice killing people. Just remember, if you kill a good player, they will see where you are in the killcam and come after so its wise to move after a few kills. Also play HUnter mode too, to get more practice in.

You will end up with 4 different arrows. Normal hunting arrow, Thermite (good for shields) Air Burst, and recon. When you have access to it, set your recon arrow as your secondary fire option. This is great for crash site and spears. Just fire it at or near the crashed pod or spear and all enemies nearby will be tagged for your team to see and kill.

If you like to know more, or learn more, join the newbie friendly weeked posted in the PC section of crisis 3 discussion. Or you can add me in game or ask me here.
