BowsCrossbows Stealth like medival weapons

I was wondering why didn't bethesda put bows/crossbows already in the fallout franchise. As Fallout is a post apo game i think a bow is fairly easier to aquire than a gun as you can find strings and wood/metal pieces all across the wasteland, and they would fiit preety good in the lore as some tribals and raiders used them.
What do you guys think, should fallout have bows?

It'd be pretty sweet, but even in a resource drawn place like the wasteland, people seem to have a really easy time finding guns and ammo.
May have to settle for a silenced gun and make the twang sound ourselves.

Yes but i still think the concept of a bow fits preety well into the wasteland surwival theme, it's a basic weapon for long range hunting, used across thousands of years, and a compound bow would be the ultimate end of a modification span for the bow. It is also a silent weapon that could be used in almost any situation.

Thing is I don't think bows have much stopping power against someone in metal armor or a radscorpion. It would be used mainly for hunting and not for combat.

Since there are already so many refferences to the Mad Max franchise a Crossbow would fit right in. Would be fun to nail your enemys to walls like you could with the railway rifle. And of course anyone would love to kill ghouls Daryl Dixon style.

It would definitely be in my backpack if they include it, but I tend to think it would be of limited use against most heavy armor, deathclaws, groups of more than 3, and anyone more than 40 meters away. It's kind of how the throwing knives in NV were of limited use, great in the casinos where everyone was in a business suit, but otherwise pretty useless.
Unless we get Rambo style explosive arrows, then rock on.

Well actually metal armors also have their weak spots like all joints, and not everyone is wearing a helmet so an arrow in the face would probably a quite deadly stopping force.

I'd like them to add pneumatic weapons, similar to those of the Metro series. It makes sense in a way since metal is easy to acquire and bullets would be more scarce. They got futuristic weapons in the game as of now so it only makes sense to take that step. Also it would be nice to see something similar to a vanhelsing crossbow.

Can't deny a arrow to the face would make anyone take pause. I just imagine damage will be calculated like the other games and a arrow to the arm will calculate as though it went through the armored gauntlet even if you aim for the joints.
Here's hoping that isn't the case as arrows and really any weapon could be useful if they could bypass armor like that.

Bows, Crossbows, Swords and pneumatic weapons can certainly be effective. Not traditional ones mind you, but weaponry evolves over time and somethings get modified or new more effective projectiles are made. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amK7Dr-ZjRU&feature=youtu.be. A Fallout New Vegas Worldspace mod that adds new lands, weapons and quests. The Harpoon gun shown has various ammo types, explosive, incendiary, electric and so forth. So Bows and Crossbows would receive the same treatment with new arrow and bolt types.

Swords would probably be similar to the Shishkebab. And other mods.

Did you miss the part in the demo where a teddy bear was shot out of a canon and exploded someone head?
