The "perk" is merely a digital copy of fallout 3.

That's because the Xbox One is getting backwards combatibility and the PS4 is not.

Except the part where the download is for 360.

In any case, who cares? You can get Fallout 3 for about 10 bucks anymore, if that. This isn't something worth being upset about.

Right, because it's backwards compatibility. A system with backwards compatibility is able to play games made for the system's predecessor (the 360 in this case) in addition to the games made for the console itself.

The blog post clearly states it is a digital download for a 360. It does not say it is a backwards compatible download for the Xbox one. Learn to read.

The issue with telling people to learn to read is that you have to read it yourself. It says right in there that XBox One will have compatibility with it.

It is a 360 version that will be playable on the Xbox One.

There is no such thing as a Xbox One version of FO3, but it will be playable via backwards compatibly.

"When made available". No promise that will actually happen. And it also doesn't state the download will work for Xbox One, it specifically states 360 download. It says it will be on the Xbox one when it is available, not that the preorder bonus will work with xbox one.

...what you say doesn't invalidate anything Gnome said. That's why they're doing it. So that people that have an XBox One but not a 360 have a reason to play the last game. If Bethesda made mention of it, they're planning on it happening, barring any aggravating circumstances. They mentioned the cross compatibility in there for a reason.

I read it. No editing required. They mentioned that tidbit of info in the same paragraph as the 360 download for a reason.

Not to mention a moderator already confirmed what I'm saying.

Because support on Sony's platform has always been a hassle and a determent to Bethesda games as a whole (as more time and resources go to optimizing for Sony).

Honestly, and I say this with no malice, it really would be better if Bethesda just stopped supporting Sony's platform all together.

It should be better now. I believe the PS4 is actually quite close to a PC as far as architecture is concerned. The PS3 had a very different architecture, which made compatibility of any kind somewhat difficult.

He confirmed it will be backwards compatible on the Xbox one, not that the pre order code would work for that version. Also, and no offense to Pluto, mods are not paid Bethesda employees who have acess to all info. They are community members chosen to help keep the forums in order.

Edit - I may have misinterpreted Pluto's comment.

It is confirmed that fallout 3 will eventually be backwards compatable with the Xbox one. Also, any downloaded game on the 360 will instantly appear in your games app on xbox one once it is added, so even though it is an xbox 360 download code, it will 100% work on xbox one

Ah, I didn't know that if you had a digital download on 360 it would transfer to the One, assuming it was compatible. I'll go ahead and rescind my prior statements.

So long as it isn't content ripped from the game to be made an exclusive pre-order bonus for some retailer, it doesn't bother me.

i think i need to add something to this .

on backwards compatible ALL x360 games that were made for a controller (not kinect games or music games) will work on x1 with zero extra work how you might ask? its a software emulator the trick will getting all publishers to allow micosoft to add them to list there are legal matters for every game that is made backwards compatible.

they even confirmed that all x360 dlc will work as well and you be able to play multilplayer if the servers are still online for x360 games.

Fallout 4 for Xbox One bundled with a code for Fallout 3 Digital Download - November 10th.

Backwards compatibility - November/December.

Not even long to be waiting, if we'll have to wait at all from initial release.

Bethesda's had a friendly relationship with Microsoft ever since Morrowind. Their relationship with Sony on the other hand is kinda awkward.

I'm personally getting Fallout 4 on PS4 and I'm not that bugged that the Xbox is getting Fallout 3. Hope they enjoy it!

The PS3 and PS4 are very different in terms of architecture, as Necrovamp stated. And I'd like it if they continued supporting Sony's platform. Yes, I'm a PS4 owner, but I also feel that other folks that bought the PS4 should be able to experience Fallout 4 too.

The headline on Bethblog couldn't be anymore misleading.

I was kind of ticked off at first because I thought people that preorder were getting an in game perk that we weren't getting.
