Boxing Championship

TBH I wouldn't mind some pugilism either. Pop in, bet 250K on myself, kick some ass and laugh all the way to the bank.

Hopfully there is a boxing areana under the Gommorah. The final fight should be againts a Super-Mutant. I'd also like to see the same concept in a collosseum for the CL.

The Pitt was tremendously boring. The trogs weren't fun to kill and I felt the story wasn't that great. I did enjoy the setting though.

I liked Point Lookout the best. Great location. Great side quests and secrets. And Desmond is now one of my favorite characters too. Really, I don't know how anybody could not love Point Lookout. The whole ball tripping scene is just awesome.

This is why I chose the other DLCs over the Pitt.
I think I will eventually purchase the Pitt, alongside New Vegas DLC.
It's not that I can't afford the Pitt, it's just that with NV so close, I want to stay off the Havok engine so that NV doesn't get repetitive.
That and I'm looking forward to purchasing about 10 games this holiday season, alongside my pre-order of the 3DS.
But, upon hearing that the Pitt can hold it's own against Point Lookout, I think I will be purchasing it...More of an incentive to finish F3 to platinum and get every trophy.
I loved Point Lookout, 'twas my favorite DLC out of the four I had. Then came Broken Steel, obviously. Then Anchorage, and lagging behind was Zeta.

point lookout > the pitt.

the think otherwise is folly.

The Pitt was easily one of my top three moments of FO3. The industrial fire and steel, diseased environment was awesome and the moral question was one of my favorite in the series. The loot was excellent, the auto axe is amazing and I often found myself using Pitt armor back in the capital wasteland.

The only thing good about Point Lookout was Desmond and tripping on fruit, other than that, I didn't much care for the new gear and areas. It all felt abit bland for the sheer size of the place.

I'd love it if there were both upscale, "professional" boxing rings and matches on the strip, but also underground style boxing matches out in the smaller settlements. I'd also love it if we could enter one of our companions in the fights, and bet on them.

I envision sending Veronica into the ring and just watching her bring in the caps. :disguise:

Well I don't know how your financial situation is but if you ever get the money for it you should buy it.
It's story, art design, overall gray tone of it is just great in so many ways.
Man I wish Pitt would be it's own Fallout game, it's that good.
But it is rather short if you decide to rush it, which you shouldn't. ;)

Gotta agree with you on this one; I thought The Pitt was fantastic. Liked it more than Lookout based purely on the setting; while the swamps and mutated hillbillies were really cool, the Pitt just clicked more for me. As mentioned, the industrial setting was just awesome. Plus, I didn't really like any of the weapons or armor you got out of Point Lookout; The Pitt had cool power armor (which I'm a svcker for), cool new raider armor, and the auto axe. I really wish it had been fleshed out more, it was really an interesting setting. And as mentioned, the morally gray storyline was also quite nice. I'd love a game set in there maybe 30-50 years down the road after Project Purity is activated.

Meanwhile, more on topic, being able to enter fights would be pretty damn cool.

The Pitt also added to the original game because it gave the raiders more of an identity.

Raiders? I thought they were slavers... That only makes sense... Slaver to Slave?

Nope. Raiders.
They're Raiders who bought slaves from Slavers. ;)

I would love to see boxing in the game.....
If they're present, do they have regulations for the fighter? e.g Skill, Age, Gender (Gender doesn't matter, i think..)
I hope they don't add regulations (except the rules, they must add rules,).......

Reminds me of the gladiator like tournament in Oblivion. Fighting the opponents there was awesome and it had a real genuine feeling to it, like i was watching a movie..
I dont think boxing will be available in new vegas, because i dont think it played a huge part in that time.

But if it will, then its just awesome!

And point lookout > the pitt anytime. :foodndrink:

I really like this idea! something similar to oblivion (I cnat believe Im saying that: thought the game overall was fun, There was little I liked about it. Tip to any Bethesda employees that might read this: leveling enemies+damn near identical dungens+dungens existing in the first place+VERY tedious leveling system that requires lots of thought and makes it VERY difficult to level up magic/any low skills latter on=WORST GAMEPLAY IDEA EVER!!!!). I like the idea of fighting in an old football stadium: they could set up all kinds of rubble and random crap you could use for cover, and unleash incresingly difficult waves of enemies at you, then you could get special perks/cash/goodies after every challenge. It could be a whole quest, and when you finish, you could keep doing it for just cash (but small amounts, to avoid people constantly replaying to get rich quick and this ruining the balance of the game.

and with DLC's (I have the GOTY and have played, beaten, and gotten all achievements):
1. Broken Steel-raised level cap (LEVEL CAPS SHOULDN'T EXIST: or should be between 50-100 in ALL games, just look at games like kingdom hearts or diablo level caps just piss people off) fixed ending, awesome epilogue, basically fixed the game
2/3. (these two are tied) The pitt- AUTOAXE=BEST MELEE WEAPON EVER!!!!!!, short story (con), Great choice into story w/ morally grey decision, but again, WAY too short. Point look out-Open world area! so-so story, ending is the same regardless of which side you choose (con+ you get the same reward regard less), guy in mansion (forget his name) promeses that "there's more where that came from" after giving you a perk, Then doesn't give you anymore! (con), a somewhat arena(ish) area with hunters and LOTs of ghoules.
4. Mothership Zeta- Interesting story, cool environment
5. Operation anchorage-Horrible graphical glitches that cause the whole screen to messup untill you turn away from the direction that caused it (which then ocasionally shows up in the main game!), boring story (though bonus points for making a DLC about an event in FO lore), plus the feeling of just wanting to get back to the waste land after the first few minuets of the game.

DLC overall: I disliked all the aditional armor since I always go for the most powerful, cuz once you get the T51-B, Theres nothing stronger. DLC should have either fixed that, or given you items that could bring it back to 100% condish. IDK why anyone would use any other armor (unless you thought it was just too easy) and for anyone who thinks FO3 was too easy, try playing on the highest difficulty, its not as hard as, say, the demo for vanqish, but its not near as easy either.

My god... The wall of text is falling over me! AAAAAHRHG!!!1!... /dead

Broken Steel broke the game, not fixed it.
Raising the level cap was the worst thing they could do.
It ruined the little amount of roleplaying elements there were.
with it the game became a lolcatfest even on Very Hard difficulty.

It's obvious....
The name itself is Broken Steel, and it broke the game.....
Got it?

I believe if boxing made it into NV then it should be exclusive to the strip. However outside the strip in other towns and cities, it should be a fight to the death deal. Some with weapons, some without.

I think it's good if in the Strip, there's side quest about a boxing championship...
You entered the championship, and will fight all the way to fight the last championship's champion and take the championship belt :trophy:f rom him :touched: :touched: :touched: :slap: ...
True glory....

And, this may sound crazy, but what if there's no gender regulation in the championship?
That would be a bit crazy, girls kicking boys asses, and the boys do the same to the girl. Or, if there's no gender regulations, they should make a separate championship/mixed championship......

And i really hope to see some kind of arena in CL's base.....
That would rock, like the Pitt Hole....

o.o I thought all 5 DLCs were great. :D

On topic:

I'd love a boxing championship. It'd be even better, IMO, if it did NOT require you to have a high unarmed skill (I prefer guns myself <_<), but having a low unarmed skill would put you at a disadvantage (maybe it would increase the more you fight?). But overall, I think it'd be a great idea. I remember in Fallout 2 there was a boxing championship thingy, and you could fight npcs and choose your own 'arena name'. I say throw it in! :D
