Oh boy! I hope I don't flamed for this. LOL

First off I will say it and I'm NOT ashamed. I'm an ex WoW player. My class in WoW was Rogue. Loved playing rogue. Loved it for many reasons.

I enjoyed the fact that I could stealth (quite often and NOT once a day LOL) and then backstab someone. Or take them out with my dual wield daggers or swords (very fast paced attacking action here which I enjoy very much)

I enjoyed it because I could PULL mobs with a throwing knife (or a bow and arrow).

I enjoyed it because I could slip past HIGH level enemies if need be in order to get to a location. Or to get a specific item.

Most importantly I enjoyed it because it was a VERY aggressive and fast paced attacking form of a character.

How can I "re-create" this type of character in Skyrim?

The ONLY thing I see NOT happening in Skyrim is dodge. My rogue character in WoW always dodged attacks VERY quickly rather than just stand there and take hits as it's giving hits. Dodging in Skyim doesn't even exist. It's more of a move side to side. That is NOT dodging. Should a shield be used instead?

You can dodge attacks. It's called back up out of his reach.

the light armor 100 perk gives you a 10% chance to dodge. my suggestion, kite like hell and use poisons. or carry dual daggers for dps and a single sword for defense.

You can stealth more than once a day. Just press ctrl and use your sneak skill ((LOL))

In skyrim, you must actually dodge. you see the attack animation starting, run. Put on lots of light armour to reduce the amount of damage that you take ETC

Did you not just list the essential definition of dodging and say it's not dodging? So me dodging a dodgeball by moving left or right isn't dodging? Oh that's parrying right?

back OT. move backwards or left or right... sorry that your character doesn't do matrix like moves...

Dodging to the side rarely works because of Bethesda's wierd hit detection. You'll be registered as 'hit' even if you're clearly out of the way - even with the blocking skill's quick reactions perk.

They should implement a dodging mechanic like Oblivion's just without the awful roll in third person. That worked just fine.

a) why the [censored] would you get flamed for that question? I was all ready to flame. hah.

B) games are different. you sure as hell can dodge..when I dodge a fireball, it may use a different game mechanic, but using my mouse and keys to NOT get toasted is the essence of dodging.
dodge is different. deal with it.

my theif did a couple of things. a) got a follower when I was low level, when sneaking was over, I led mobs back to the waiting follower, then kited them.

also, backpedal. it is your friend. a bit clunky. but it works.

go ask any boxer in the entire universe EVER if moving from side to side is "dodging". you will be laughed at. cause it is

I really do not understand people. You play an MMO for a while and then you play a console game and assume whatever you had there you will have here. Uh, games don't work like that. Each one is different and has its own mechanics.

You can duel wield here

You can go invisible once a day if you choose too.

Pulling mobs? Uh why the hell would you want too? And pulling is not going to work.

There is a thing in here called dodge, its either get a shield, don't be seen or run like hell.

Skyrim is setup for single player not multiplayer. Welcome to the world of a true RP adventure experience, not a water down version that holds your hand as you play.

I played WOW for a bit too and played a rogue. With a mixture of thief and warrior perks you can make a very similar character in Skyrim. You get some great rogue-like armor if you join thieves guild and dark brotherhood. Love sneaking and back stabbing with daggers!

Backpedal...move to the sides means I WILL GET HIT. No matter how I move...I ALWAYS GET HIT!

Sure I can move away from an arrow coming towards me. Or a fireball. But a sword? No way! I always get hit!

I love this game but at level 64 I still find the combat really awkward. Knockback means you can only do one thing at a time which is probably supposed to make fighting more of a challenge. I find it annoying though and that coupled with scroilling through lists makes combat in Skyrim meh :)

That is a way to survive when you are at a weal level, but is that fun to do a whole game?

I thought you were talking about my stealth char all the time in the original post, with examples of what you can do in Skyrim and which I also do. All you said is possible, but dodge is a problem. 10% is biggest dodge chance you'll get.

The fastest way to raise SNEAK, is to do a lot of damage while undetected, and sneaking...

EG, walking around, sneaking gives you like 1x sneak-skill. Standing, undetected gives you 0.5x sneak-skill. Hitting, undetected gives you 3x sneak-skill. Critical power-hitting gives you 10x sneak-skill.

You can practice on Hadvar, in the beginning of the game, in the dungeon. He doesn't mind if you hit him. (They should fix that.)

Bring out two daggers, and creep-up on someone... Hold the attack button down, for a power-kill, while you sneak. You will be 100% in no time. (Use SHOES and normal CLOTHING not ARMOR, for ultimate sneaking. Or get one of the stone-perks that makes armor sneak-ready and silent. Though, some creatures will still seem to detect you, no matter what you wear, or what skill you have.)

Also... walk SLOW, using SHIFT... since you are on "Always run"... Running makes you easier to detect.
