I started playing Fallout 3 about 2 months after it came out. It wasn't too bad, despite falling through the ground, NPC's disappearing or other random happenings. I played on and just dealt with the problems. Then, DLC started coming out and Fallout 3 was that much more fun again. While playing through Anchorage, a coffee mug spewed colored fractals and jagged edged rainbows making it literally impossible to play, even after restarting the console numerous times. Mothership Zeta was even worse. I had to restart my entire save file to play Fallout 3 and make it through the DLC's.
Enter Fallout: New Vegas. New game, new wasteland, new missions, new characters, better gameplay; right?! WRONG! I bought New Vegas just one week after it's release, not thinking. Within 15 minutes of starting, in Goodsprings, the lag becomes cataclysmic. If, and that's a big if, I'm able to make it out of Goodsprings after the Powder Ganger attack the lag stops. In Primm, the sheriff is glitched into the ceiling like he's dancing. Items fall through the ground or float away. Crouched NPC's often stay that way and scoot around. Most enemy NPC's run away or fire in the wrong direction yet still shoot me. My companions often run off after enemies that I cannot see or that have also run off. Many of the quest-essential NPC's die and leave a number of quests incomplete. After playing New Vegas any more than 2 hours at a time the game will freeze and corrupt my save files. Not just 1, all of them. There are so many problems.
I recently re-purchased this game after over a year of not being interested in it. I decided it was time to go back and give New Vegas another chance. (for $2 from Game Stop, I guess it's like buying the game new, but paying what it's actually worth). Needless to say, same game is same game. Nothing has changed AT ALL. I feel like Bethesda has literally robbed the masses. Walmart, Target, Game Stop; anyplace that bought large quantities of this game. We bought it there and expected it to work. Imagine how many thousands of people took New Vegas back in anger. Imagine how much money these companies lost while Bethesda made a huge profit and laughed. How long will Bethesda get away with this?
