Brahmin produce what!?

Post » Tue Jan 12, 2016 9:31 am

So I've been doing some research, and found that Brahmin produce fertilizer. Had no idea. I think you need to have a food trough in order to make it happen. Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. Hoping some of you can answer a few questions about production:

1. Is there a cap on the amount that goes into your workshop (like purified water production) or will this just continuously build? My fertilizer amount is very low compared to everything else, and I hardly have used it at all in the past.

2. Can you get more Brahmin somehow? My large Sanctuary homestead only has one Brahmin, but some of my other smaller settlements I noticed had multiple Brahmin walking around.

3. Anything else I should be doing that I'm not aware of for this? (I.e. Putting a fence around them, placement of trough?)

Thanks everyone.

1. Not sure about the cap really, but since it is under junk menu I would imagine it work similar to the other junk your settlers bring in, so it will just keep getting added.

2. Yes, sometimes settlers have them when they arrive, and there is a random encounter where you can buy one. I think that event is repeatable so you can build up a few of them.

3. I think just having them in your settlement will produce it, I am not sure you even need the trough.

Jet is made from fertilizer. When you use jet you're huffing brahmin crap.

Nice thought isn't it?

Specifically, jet is fertilizer and plastic. So you maximize your fertilizer production, use it to craft jet (getting xp in the process) and sell it for more than purified water.

Congratulations, you are now a drug lord.

I red that they also incresse happiness and add brahmin meat over time (how?). Could be wrong though considering the amount of misinformation.

Happiness I am not sure of, I haven't bothered looking into that aspect, seems a bit weird. But I have a few settlements with brahmin and have never seen their meat in the workshop.

Is there a cap on purified water? I have a production of 600+ up and running at Sanctuary. Does that mean, it's all for naught?

I think getting a second cow is random. I have 1 in sanctuary, lots of space, two troughs. Happiness in the 80's.

Jamaica Point, brand new, 7 settlers, close confined space. 1 trough, 60's happiness. 2 cows.

There is a bug/limitation where the items stored in a workshop don't stack properly.

Let's say you have a settlement with 10 settlers and an industrial purifier making 40 water. That leftover 30 should go into your workshop as surplus. (If you have a connected settlement that doesn't have enough water, some of it will go there, but let's say that isn't the case here.)

So you look and you have 30 water. If you don't remove it, however, no more will appear due to the stacking issue. (This may not happen to everyone, but I've personally experienced it and I've seen enough others complain to know it is an issue.)

As a good rule of thumb, just pull out any excess water in your workshop each time you enter it to make avoid this. If you go days without looking, it does continue to appear. (So 60 after two days, 90 after three, etc.)

Mine usually tops out at about 375 units. I have a little storage container right next to the workshop. Every time I show up I quickly grab all of my purified water and stick them into the container for selling later.

Can't really lay my finger on the output. But, producing 600+, I usually get between 200 and 400 units every couple of days, which I trade in for ammo and rare shipments. All my settlements are connected, so I'm not sure, which one is short of water and draws from the stock.

There is a lady by Outpost zigmon..or whatever its named.. walk around going west and youl find some lady selling one.. send it to a settlement.. once you get to the settlement youll see it wondering around.. build a bathtub trough and if you have a scavenge table with someone assigned.. youll generate fertilizer..yes you can make JET from it or super jet.. which btw makes you addicted very quickly..

No need to buy one. They keep showing up in my settlements. I keep building them troughs, but I didn't know, you need a scrapping table also.

Some times they show up at random sometimes they don't. I suppose having two of them is better than one though, so seems like no harm in buying one.

I've yet to find one settlement where no Brahmin strolled in after some time. Maybe I'm just lucky, but they just keep coming.

Generally my settlements all end up with one Brahman that just wanders in. I did have one settlement that ended up with like 9 of them. Not sure how that happened but they were in all busy trying to push each other away from the one bathtub / food trough I had set up for them. LOL

Wow, I am impressed by this game, even a piece of [censored] has more worth than those pipe weapons.
