Depends on your taste, personally I think most people want to look and live like Kings, I personally I'm not really into that in TES and would be more than content with a simple house in Riverwood with plenty of Book shelves upstairs and display cases down stairs for my special gear, I don't need a mansion, I just want an unassuming humble home that has plenty of storage and spots to display my hard earned items, like a small home belonging to a hunter with all his trophies.

So I tend to go with Breezehome, though Honeyside is tempting, I'm just not a fan of Riften.

Me too... i don't like Mansions, my character backstory tells that he lived in a simple home, a simple life... And also this is my personal preference.. I enjoy much more the little homes..

But i can't choose between Breezehome and Honeyside.

Breezehome. It's cheap. You can get it early. It is literally sandwiched between a smith, two weapons vendors, a potion vendor, a general goods vendor, trinket vendor, and two food vendors. While both are literally ten steps away from a fast travel marker. While the other fast travel marker in the respective cities allows you magical crafting, the one in Breezehome is much easier to get to.

Also, Riften is full of stinky Stormcloaks.

Honeyside is far better equipped but Breezehome's location is infinitely more convenient.

Indeed... Breezehome seems more convenient, but Honeyside have a Garden, Enchanter, and Manequins, that Breezehome don't have.. Also, it is bigger a cooler..

BUT, Breezehome is in the center of Skyrim, it seems more convenient for me... but Honeyside also looks really cool... Argghhh indecision !!

The eternal fall setting of Riften is amazing. Now if I could just kill that B-I-T-C-H Maven it would be heaven on Tamriel.

Honeyside all the way. Have you seen the view from your porch? There are deer that come right up to the lakes edge to have a drink...and you get a fishing boat. Enough said.

Windhelm house > Riften house > Solitude house > Markarth house > Whiterun house, in my opinion

You may have to creep sideways to walk inside Breezehome...funny name, that...because there's hardly enough room for a breeze anywhere in that house.

I see... but I don't like the stylings of the 2 houses you claim are best , I'd honestly prefer breezehome over those 2 weird places

In my first playthrough I bought Breezehome, in my second I bought Honeyside. I have to say, I really like Honeyside better, it has more room in it. Breezehome was too small for me.

But it's your choice, if you can't decide, save, then buy Breezehome and all it's upgrades, then go look around. Do the same for Honeyside, then figure out which one you liked more, load up that save, buy it and your done!

Also, Honeyside gives you a view that I don't think any other house can match (on the back porch, you get a view of the lake).
