Well it is not very certain how the Aldmer exactly looked, but they might've been more "human" looking than the current day Altmer. Also with the Nedes their appearance is also uncertain, but with the appearance of Ysgramor (who is the only Nede pictured) they may have been similar to Nords.
Obviously they are not your normal generic half-elves though.

well they arent 50% elf 50% human

they are human with some elf blood in their ancestry. Also in TES lore, when there is an actual couple of two different races, the child comes out as the mothers race

I believe Bretons in modern-day Tamriel may have more Nord and Imperial blood than Elven blood. They are very much a mixture of many races but mostly man rather than mer. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Breton

This is correct. The "magical prowess" is the elven part of their heritage.

They're extremely...human. I'd like a few elven features without going overboard (sliiightly pointed ears, characteristic skin color...something).

No he cant, in Elder scrolls if one parent is an elf and one is a human you will come out full human or full elf, depending on the mother's race.

This, Say an Orc Male and a Redguard Female had a child, the child would be a Redguard. There was an example of this in Oblivion, cant remember his name but he was like Half Orc/Half Human (I want to say imperial, but not sure) his mother was an Orc, so he was an (Or more so) Orc.

What's with people linking anime characters to show what half-elves should look like? Skyrim isn't in the anime style so you can't really draw comparisons. Most of the anime half-elves linked look more like elves that some of the elves in Skyrim.

People instantly assosciate RPG with Anime/Fantasy, Have you not seen the mods people are comming out with? All this anime looking crap that ruins the game....But Yeah, People just think that an RPG is this cute little thing running around half naked with a huge sword. :wallbash:

Its quite sad actually. lol.....
