There we go. Nobody needs to be bothered by American English.
Whats wrong with American English? I happen to love it, especially Southern accents and Brooklyn. English English (ha!) sounds more poetic, but most American accents sound more 'warrioristic' a lot like German, and how it can just intimidate someone when spoken in a harsh tone. Southern accents are very different, in that it's even softer than a few accents i've heard in London. You would be amazed by just how many accents English has, there are 21 unique accents in the US alone for example, all whom have their own flair to them. You're not even getting into the more exotic 'unofficial' accents, such as Georgian, Alaskan, Hawaiian, ebonic, 'Mexican' (it's called about 50 things, but it's only spoken in Southern states- but it's a mixture between Mexican and English, and it has nothing to do with native tongue Mexican language as the vast majority of them are native to English)
Most movies, games, and such things of the like are done in either Mid-Western, or some sort of mixture whom have a very different pronunciation because the words are a little rough but are more easily understandable because of the distinctive sounds.
It's much like most people's understanding of German. Most people are only familiar with the dialect of Berlin while being oblivious to accents like Hessian, Austrian (i always get Austrian and Swiss confused)
