Brian Delaney Spoiler Tweet

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 2:07 am

Yo, so I just saw Brian Delaney (the voice for the male player char.) answering questions on Twitter and he playfully teased some potential main story information. Of course, it could be nothing... Feel free to discuss what the tweet might mean.

But we're on alert for spoilers now - can't be long before real leaks start dropping. Might be time to go dark soon...

Surely you jest?

If not you should really acquaint yourself with 21st century gaming...

Edit:

As others have said, this isn't a spoiler.I don't think it even substantiates the implication of one.

Sorry, I don't need a gimmick made for action adventure kiddies that mash buttons during dialogue/cut scenes.

So you've never played Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas? All 21st century games with no voiced protagonists.

Not very good at forming coherent arguments, eh?

It's an industry convention, not a gimmick.

Anyone can cherry pick anomalous information, by that logic white people are all neo-nazis...

It's a gimmick.

What does the rest of your fallacy have to do with anything? Whites, Nazis? Still trying to form that argument, eh?

Dude you really svck at making arguments.....

Just not something I need to have in an RPG....No matter what char I play it won't really fit and he wil always sound terribly generic. In that case I rather have a silent protagonist.

Could you care to substantiate as to how a voiced PC is a gimmick, rather than poorly articulating an argument of abject arrogation?

I'm ambivalent to the inclusion of a voiced PC, but I've yet too see an argument that can't be rendered down to the hubris of "The game svcks unless I'm in it".

He cherry picked a few 21st century games to suggest that a voiced PC isn't a gaming staple, so I cherry picked a denomination of people to suggest that everyone is like that group. Where's the flaw?

Edit:

If your aghast is to do with the anology of nazis, then that has no bearing on the semantic of my claim.

That's pretty much the exact opposite of what roleplayers that are against this have been saying. It's not our voice it's our character's. You know, role play. Now it's not our character's voice, it's Brian Delaney. And every one of our male characters has Brian's voice.

Then you can get into the fact that with a voiced protagonist you will have less dialogue than if you didn't voice them.

So much for being "whoever, whatever you want."

You really can't see?Wow stupid...:

A:Your post:

You clearly didn't since a lot of 21st century RPGs have non, if not most....

That he didn't do that...?That it has nothing do with each other? That you can't make arguments?Pick one.

I agree that I would like a return to the silent character so I can better be my character.

This had remained true for me in TES and Fallout 3 and NV.

It's an anology of cherry picking information.

I never suggested he made the claim of white people being nazis... I was highlighting how using aberrational examples can equally be applied to suggest an argument. He essentially said that voice acted PCs weren't a 21st century gaming convention because he could name 4 games that didn't have it.
