Bring the House Down Interest Check

Post » Mon Jun 13, 2011 6:30 am

This is just an interest check for a future RP that I want to create. It will be in Post-New Vegas where Mr. House won the Second Battle, about 30 years after Mr. House's takeover. All of New Vegas has been completely rebuilt into current day Las Vegas. Just as big and just as fantastic. Crime is nearly none because of the Mk II Securitron police.

Freeside is nonexistent. All of Freeside has been demolished to expand New Vegas. This includes Westside and the Crimson Caravan area. The only structure still standing that's close to Freeside is McCarran Airport. The Airport has been turned into a real airport that ferries people from NCR territory to New Vegas and vice versa.

Primm is basically New Vegas for those who aren't rich enough to afford an escort to New Vegas and can't leave their farmsteads. It's much smaller, but the Bison Steve and Vicky and Vance casinos have been rebuilt. It also has many unnamed gambling houses where the bets are small.

Goodsprings and the surrounding area is a thriving farming area. Much of the Powder Ganger territory was taken by Goodsprings after the Powder Gangers were killed by Mr. House's Securitrons. A main residential area.

Novac and the surrounding area was completely changed into another residential area, specializing in technology. Mr. House's dream of a high technology sector finally was realized as Novac is in a perfect place. Close to a medium sized scrap yard, Repconn, and Helios One. The place was a technological spectacle. Even the dinosaur was changed into an automated Security System, sporting two laser eyes and turrets on its arms.

Hidden Valley was spared by the Courier, only the Brotherhood of Steel were killed. It is now used as a large camp on the outside and on the inside, a massive trading post after all military technology was removed. It was about 100x more popular than the 188 Trading Post, which was completely gone by the time this first opened.

Most of the East where Caesar's Legion used to control is underdeveloped and where very poor people live.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mr. House rules New Vegas very lightly. He does very little and allows the Securitrons and the designated representatives to control most of the minor details. He however enforces strict laws about causing havoc in the Mojave. Any looting or raiding is immediate death by bounty hunter or Securitron. Mr. House also has a group of Peacekeepers.
The Peacekeepers are a group of humans that do what Securitrons cannot. Infiltrate and discover any uprising, do low profile missions, etc. They act as the Secret Agency of Mr. House. They are lead by the Courier, who is a mysterious figure after a disappearance after the Second Battle. The Courier resides somewhere in the Lucky 38.
But on the other side of the spectrum are the Liberators. They are a group of radicals who fight Mr. House's reign on the wasteland. They are basically terrorists. Bombings in low security casinos, assassination of Peacekeepers they discover and sometimes, and assassination on Mr. House's representatives. However, all of the members believe in a cause of a true democracy and wants New Vegas to be absorbed by NCR and no other taker.
The Liberators have won much support in the bad end of the Mojave such as Jacobstown and the Cottonwood Cove area. Many of the people in New Vegas see them as terrorists while the people in the poor/slum areas of the wasteland see them as revolutionaries.
Liberators have a special group, the "Busters". They specialize in demolition, sabotage, and assassinations. A group of elite assassins that only take orders from the Liberators General, John Zeren. Their main base is in the Fort where Caesar's Legion used to reside. As much of the East is in favor of the Liberators, the Fort is a busy place in terms of trading.
So this is the state of the wasteland.
Character Sheet Explanation
Spoiler
Name: A real sounding name. Can be unique but NOT STUPID. Something like "Bloodwhistler" or "Shadow Stalker" is a stupid name. Even if it's unique, it has to be realistic. Also...having a nickname that's supposed to sound cool but sounds stupid is discouraged.
Age: No age over 70 unless you're a ghoul.
Race: If human, a race. If a ghoul, just say ghoul.
General Appearance: Just appearance...CAN BE A PICTURE
Faction: Legion, NCR, Mr. House, Liberators, Your own Faction,
Role within Faction: Squad leader? Head Scientist? Janitor?
Weapons: Anything that isn't a ridiculous weapon. Has to make sense in context. So a scavenger wouldn't have a Minigun while a Liberator Heavy Troop might.
Apparel: Same thing as weapon. No power armor unless it's either deactivated or only parts are used like shoulders.
Other Gear: Journals and other trinkets. Bobby pins and medical kits fall into this.
Personality: Has to have a flaw or weakness
History: Don't overuse the sob story of "parents were killed, cold hearted killer." Make it original.
Interesting premise but you should expand on The Liberators. It seems as though you were trying to establish them as something other than just an Evil faction. If you ere going for a "One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter" vibe you should write a bit mores about motivation.
Ehh, I got room for one more.
Name: Daniel "Chip-Toss" Dillinger
Age:27
Race:Human
General Appearance: White skinned, black curly hair, green eyes.
Faction: NCR
Rank within Faction: Bounty Hunter
Weapons: Six-Shot 10MM Red Revolver, Unarmed Combat.
Apparel: A suitcase filled with four polo shirts, one dark green, two dark blue, and one black. Two black pants and two white. A trench-coat for when it rains.
Other Gear: A box of cigarettes usually. A red poker chip.
Personality: Cocky, takes almost everything lightly, known to complain.
History: There is hardly a history for Daniel to tell. One day in the town of Goodsprings, he found himself low on money. Suddenly, a Wanted Man walked into the saloon and began to stir trouble. Daniel found that punching and kicking the man a little and turning him into a nearby NCR outpost gave him a nice amount of money, and so began his career as a Bounty Hunter.
He is slightly known throughout some casinos as "Loser Number One", thanks to his awful luck with everything involving them. Some say that he only goes to them because he can't think of any other way to get rid of all his money. Though Daniel works for the NCR at the moment, anything could change his affiliation if done right.
