Bringing Ancient Egypt To Morrowind!

@Arkngt
That's why we have google. ;)

@silver, Anywho silver, I know this is project is very special to you. And we're all happy to be a part of it, but don't snap off at DW that hard. I know you have great respect for the Egyptian Culture, but not everyone is quite as well educated. A finger tap on DW's nose is good enough :) He did work on them for a bit, after-all...

@DW, just make sure to ask us before going ahead and doing ze models. Now that I've created us a place for coordination in privacy, it'll be much easier to coordinate with us....I've created forums on my site for EACH category (they are sub-forums) and a few others for development and ideas. The key to a good collaboration is coordination...quoting my good friend Dragon Lance.

PEACE!! And that's a very hard thing for an evil person to say...

Hey folks,

please don't forget that we are just modding a PC-game, there are no REAL gods or whatever, only a bunch of colored pixels. If this all is taken that serious, I'd rather be out of that project and one of the other 9.999 3D-modelers we have can do the job!!!

I don't waste my free time to be blamed for insulting some dusty ancestors in the end!!!!

DW, I'd hate to see you leave based on a misunderstanding, but perhaps you could model based on the mod requests? It would be a simpler task and easier on the rest of the mod itself. I understand if you don't want to conform to the mod as you are an excellent modeler, but remember that you have joined to model FOR a mod in particular, not for your own mod. Silver_Fox_Rival wants to keep within the 'lore' of Egypt as it really was. It's really up to you, should you decide to stay in it. There are plenty of objects that still need modeling and this would mean alot to her if you could stay and it would also help us 'other modelers' as well :) .

Ok the landscaping will hands on free do whatever you want with it. As long as the Nile contains Palm Trees, Egyptian Lotus', lots of slender grass (can't remember the CS name for it), lily pads, farming grounds for the harvested plants, plenty of desert sand, rocks that sort of match the land (light colored rock for the sand and dark colored rock for the muddy parts of the land). The only thing that will be lore correct is the water irrigation system. If you need me to provide a few pics for some of the temples and such plz PM me as I will link you to some. I'll send you the blank esm file so that each one of you can get started raising the landmass. There will be a series of Interior Cells that will have to act like Exterior Cells so that some of the buildings can be used. If you have any questions about this plz PM me so you can get a understanding of what needs to be done as far as the landscaping is involved. If any of you would like to start modeling plants and ingredients for this mod, plz post screenies plz! :hubbahubba:

Ok, just send me the blank esm and the best thing to do would be to give me some region borders that I can work within, if that suits you.

Also a question for muddy parts. They look like..just a bit of mud, or are jungle like?
Good thing to do would be if you could draw some concept arts, so that we have idea on what do we build.
I'd gladly do it, but 1. I have no idea how should look what, I don't wanna ruin your picture of it.
2. I don't have a working scanner software installed anyway :P

And finnaly to mention that my windows reinstalling could start any time soon. Not like you care, but you should know in case I don't respond to you.

P.S.

The official Development hall is ovr at my site, the forums for devs are WAY at the bottom
Coordination is the key, quoting a good friend of mine....

silver, Dragon_Lance, Jac, and xii have already situated themselves there. And if you are a dev on this mod, sign up,so I can set you up (it's hidden to non-devs)

About your PC it's ok everyone has problems with them. Ok here are some pics that I have that might help you with that sort of thing:

http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee122/silver_fox_rival/Mod%20Textures/egyptemple.jpg
A Temple (as you can see clearly in this pic there will be lush green grasses. I think that Morrowind has these same grasses if I do recall working with them on another mod of mine. Use those grasses. This temple was built probably around/on an lush oasis of some sort. I will be also providing you with real landscape images so that land looks real enough.)

http://www.flickr.com/photos/14466267@N07/2287069746/sizes/o/
KARNAK TEMPLE OF AMUN RA, EGYPT (This is what the interior cells would look like when we modelers get done with the landscape.)

http://www.flickr.com/photos/timaios-photo/2514147276/
Dromos in the Luxor Temple, Egypt (this should answer your question about the rocks and land matching I hope)

Here is another post done by me over on GHF as far as the landscaping is concerned:

Ok let's get this mod started. TheDaywalker will be making the black esp file. So anything that you have done for this will be going to him so he can put it into the mod. We need to start developing the land first. We'll start from the Egyptian Nile and work our ways back towards the mainland, ok? Here are some good shots of the Nile so that you can get a just of what the nile will be looking like:

I hope these work for you TDW. I still have to finish the first Pyramid for this mod. From then, I'll be making the Egyptian Blue Lotus Flowers so you can use them plus the ingredients for them as well.

I don't know if you need some landtextures but for Grain of Sand I used a handful of landtextures. The file is called Sand Textures 2 and adds 17 new landtex. There is another Sand Textures mod too but that's a bit older and lowrez. Might still be of use though.

That reminds me silver....who is ALL on the team exactly...

I know we have Me(Mikey) and Fliggerty working on scripts together, xii is doing our sounds, Jac is our dialogueist, Dragon_Lance is our weapons smith, TheDaywalker is back with us doing Landscaping and modelling, I'm doing some Landscaping as well, you're (silver) doing modelling with Blender, and I'm assuming Chaka here is doing something with us as well...

Is that the whole team?

Yep so far that's all we have. Idk if Peachykeen is helping us or not, the blank esm he is working on for us. Oh I almost forgot, MA said he was going to help us out as well. Because we need clothiers (5) so that we can get the clothing done for the mod as well. If any clothiers who are masters in their skills plz sign up for this because we are in need of clothing for the egyptians of this mod.

Hi, this is an animated tree, which can move his face as if it was speeking. I'll make those tree an NPC, so that the player can listen to the tree speeking and after that open up a dialoge. The animation is done with shape keys, which means controlled mesh deform. The game engine sadly only allows to do this with bodyparts and not as standalone objects. But using it on an NPC, I'll be able to create speaking trees, doors, let a stone morph into a character and what else comes to mind.

Next thing I'll try to figure out are NPC- and creature-animation and I guess it's only a matter of time until I get it done. :D

Textures are not final, will make it more shaded and plastic!!!

PS: For all those who are interested in learning blender animations for morrowind, I'll work out a tutorial as soon as I'm a bit more used to the new techniques I just found out. Btw, THX to A1x2e3l for showing me the right way!!! B)
